Xbox One Controller Trigger Rumble does not work
Trigger Rumble for the controller worked fine the first time I launched the game.

Trigger Rumble works fine for other games. Even F1 2018. I checked the settings and even set it to "On" from "Auto". It just stopped working altogether!

I had the same issue. I changed the in game settings from trigger rumble from "Auto" to "On". I then increased the vibration strength for rumble up to 150 and quit the game. I then unplugged the Xbox One Controller USB Wifi Adaptor and then plugged it back in. I then started the game back up and the Trigger Rumble was working. Please let me know if this works for you!

just turn off steam-controller handling and turn from auto to on.

for me, it is working, but just not fine. because it is on 'auto", and the option is inactive to change to "on". On "on", it should have ( acc . to F1 2018) a different, much more realistic feel of feedback rumble....

Hey, i discovered the Steam controller settings under "Steam -> Settings -> General Controller Settings". Then uncheck everything.
Even with these changes, it works very inconsistently. Sometimes I get trigger rumble, other times when I restart the game, the rumble just disappears and I get only the normal controller vibration

What's the difference between on and auto?

Try updating to the latest Steam-beta. That solves the problem ;)

I have to chime in too, as i discovered it's not working for me anymore, too. It does in f1 2017 and 2018 though, and it makes a BIG difference when trying to play without ABS and traction control.

Any solutions yet?

Rumble Trigger probably won't work over bluetooth, unless you have the official xbox one wireless adapter. Have you tried with the wired connection?

Currently what works consistently for me is if I plug in my controller before starting steam. I've noticed the trigger rumble is flaky if steam is already running and the controller is plugged in later.

Hi, my friend. I came here trying to help you out. I've encountered the problem recently and I think I maybe found a way to solve the problem. Here's what I have done:

1. As some threads said above, turn off the Steam Controller settings.
2. Right click the game and go to 'Properties'
3. in 'General - Steam Input Per-Game Setting' choose 'Forced Off'

This should help solve the problem. I'm currently running fine in both DX11 and DX12 ver.
Note that I'm not using the wireless controller, but I haven't checked if it can work on wireless.
Good luck~
