Logitech Driving Force GT slower than Controller
I got the problem that driving against a friend, me with the steering wheel, he with a controller, makes me 2-5 seconds per lap slower than him. It's like lacking downforce in the corners. Logitech Gaming Software installed, game shows everything is fine. We tested it and he gets aroung corners much much faster than I could. It ist simply not possible for me to get anywhere close to his lap times.

No, it is that he is too used to controller and you are not used to your steering wheel enough to make the difference.

He feels no downforce/lack-of-downforce, oversteer, understeer, anything, he have to react on screen image and that is it (maybe some controller vibration but . . . makes almost no difference at all).

With all assists on the controlller is well optmized to make the analog stick or arrows worth because you have fast steering reaction with it and the game wont allow the wheel to turn so much you spin everytime neither will let you down that you oversteer everytime.
(same goes for throttle and breaks).

To be good enough with a steering wheel is harder than with a controller but pays off with time and experience, good luck and keep going ;).

Im sorry but that is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.. I AM used to my steering wheel and he is right away 3-5 seconds faster in the fast lap.. Im on my absolute limit. And even in fast corners with straight line before, he can go faster, as if he got more downforce and Im talking WAY MORE

I'm on a Logitech Driving Force GT. Could you give me the actual circuit and lap times you are doing to compare? I'm racing in Octane Online Racing and I know 4 drivers that all use the DFGT. I have however heard that controller is faster in F1 2019.

Ok ... So you are not accepting that he does better with the controller because he is better with It (and better than you) than what you can do with the wheel ... You are also not considering the WRs are also made with steering wheel not with controller and all that because you are supposed to be as fast (or maybe faster) than him but, magically, he is being faster with the controller so it certainly is something else fault, not that he is much more used to controller to do so much better than you with steering wheel .... Ok.

So we wanted to start out with F2. I was actualley doing best compared to him in a Carlin in Suzuka with an 1:44.237. He did a 1:43.300. Both balanced Setup 3. It feld way better, because it is actually one of my best tracks. Nevermind the fact I was doing 10-15 Laps and he only 3. I've been driving with steering wheels for 12 years now... I was never as uncompetative as this. In Silverstone for example I'm constantly 3 Seconds off his time, regardless of any setting.

Maybe he got better? (and I mean significantly better).

I for one sometimes need just a couple of laps to do a good time, sometimes I need some hours trying . . but when one of my friends tell me they broke my record . . . sometimes I just go there and do it 1s or 2s faster (and really, out of nowhere, with 1 to 4 tries only) and they get pissed on me because of that :P.

I'd suggest jump into a time trial and spend the a bit of time practising. If after a few days you are in the top 10% of the world and he's still 1-2 seconds up on you then I'd agree something is up. If you are not in the top 10% then I'd say you are just a bit slow and need to improve. When I practice for a league race I like to get top 10%. That pace usually means I'm mid field or a bit better in the bottom league out of 4.
