Crash on startup, error code 0x800F0805. "Windows couldn't complete the requested changes"

For a long time now, Spacechem has refused to start, and I haven't been able to find fixes online that work for me. I'd like to hear if any of you have experienced the same. Below is a screenshot of the error that pops up on launch.
