More content
I was wondering if there will be more content in game, i feel like i went through all of it in the saga beta already.
For example:
surprise pregnancies from your female children(the ones that stayed in the pack but didnt leave)
More disease(ones that can affect adults)
Basically many more

WolfQuest's goal is to depict the typical life of a wolf pack, so stuff like 'surprise pregnancies' aren't in the cards there.

They don't really do specific diseases (would get kind of granular on symptoms and everything, so it's left vague for interpretation).

Bighorn Sheep are an animal they have yet to implement and the dev team has said that they intend to add full bison herds one day. Any other surprises they have in store they've been keeping under wraps.

I understand, such a shame though. I was hoping for more content that i seen happen in packs before but i suppose i can work with what is there. Thank you for responding

I'm personally hoping for more side quests. Things to do but you don't need to, it's just something to do. Honestly I can only play so much before the game loop gets tedious and boring. I have no clue what to do in the young hunters quest and it takes a lot of fighting for me to not stop playing for another few months when I get there.

I understand, the loop can get really boring when you done everything in game. Time will tell when the saga comes out

There's not exactly much more they can add in terms of lifecycle, they've covered pretty much everything the average wolf goes through in its life already (including extras I never thought we'd get like succession). It's ok to move on from a game when you're bored, but I don't think that's the game's issue in this case, as wolf life is very much the same every year.

That's the thing, I love WolfQuest. I don't want to "move on" from it, I want to have a pack that spans generations, so getting bored and leaving it just makes me feel bad and stops me from doing that.

Even a little 'things to do' list that randomly generates objectives would be fine for me. Hunt 5 hares, get 3 territory hexes to 100%, chase off a dispersal... things that you can do when you're bored. Or maybe something more creative that the devs can think of. I don't think we need anything huge.

Randomly generated objectives wouldn't fit with the gameplay though, real wolves don't do anything they don't have to because saving energy is very important for wild animals; encouraging pointless activities would go against the educational message. You can always make up your own challenges, plenty of people do that.

But then you'll get bored of that too, eventually. Whether you like it or not, you'll have no choice but to move on to other games sooner or later. Not to mention you can create your own challenges/set your own side objectives already. You don't need a game feature for that.

I tend to get addicted to a game for a week or two. Then I get bored and play other games. And then, several months later, I go back to games I previously played. WolfQuest is no exception. I get you want to create a long lineage, but it's okay if it takes you several years to reach that goal. There's nothing wrong about taking a break, even if it's a long one. The more you force yourself to play, the less enjoyable the game becomes.

The only way to never get bored of the game would be for the devs to keep pushing new content over time. The issue is that there's gotta be a point where they will deem their job done and move on. That's just how things are.

Like I said, maybe they can come up with something more creative or realistic. The thing is, when I stop playing for a while I lose any attachment to the old save so I start a new one... not exactly a lineage.

I'm just saying, games should be fun and you should have things to do. If there was more in the Young Hunters quest or more to do when you don't have pups, the game would be more playable. Right now certain parts of the game just feel like sleep, mark, hunt, sleep, mark, hunt, over and over again for such a long time.

Maybe I'm the weird one but I don't understand how anyone could play as a loner for a whole year. There is absolutely nothing to do but get achievements and explore.

I've been playing games my whole life, and WolfQuest for more than half of it. I know how games work, I know at a certain point you'll do everything you can and it'll get boring, that devs will stop adding stuff... but I don't think that halt of entertainment should be happening before you even beat the 'main quest' (or in this case, raising pups to become yearlings.) Yes, in WQ you can make up more things to do, and that's great. But, hot take, I don't think it should be up to the players to make the game fun?

Idk, I just really hate games that feel grindy. Some people like that

Edit: (Sorry for all the edits, I don't wanna spam the discussion)
Just to clarify I do love WQ, like I said. I think it's great and I'm very happy that it went this way. If they don't want to add anything else or more things to do, then that's how it will be and I'm fine with that. But nothing is perfect and things can always improve. There are just a lot of WQ fans who don't make grand intricate stories with their wolves, fans who can't come up with new things for the game all the time, fans with ADHD that makes it hard for them to focus on something so tedious for so long. I wish the devs would take that into account.

If you are interested in challenges, here are some.

Given that the Saga is already in Beta version, new things to do are very unlikely to be added to the game. But it's easy to make things to do. If you don't like doing that, just find another game to fit that need, and play WQ part-time.

WolfQuest is meant to be a realistic game and some players, like me, like it for the exact reason that it doesn't have unnecessary sidequests. I have found more then 150 ways I can change the game play, from only eating elk to just never woofing puppies in the den/grass, some of which make the game harder and some of which are just fun. But the game doesn't make them. I can choose to do them. In a game with lots of things you always have to do, changing the game play like that is impossible. This is exactly the reason I find WolfQuest to be re-playable, where so many other games loose my interest after a single play. Because I can play the game in so many different ways. Sidequests might be interesting, but they get to the point where they also aren't fun anymore, so in my opinion, they wouldn't help the game at all.

I think everyone has a fair point in their talking. Some people want more content, others dont and that is fine. Some people just dont like having to make things up in their head to have fun all the time, maybe time will tell with updates and such

WQ will always be very samey though, because the life of wild wolves is pretty boring most of the time, and there's only so much that can be added while sticking to the educational goal. I would agree I think it would be good for you to take a break and come back to it later; this is a very niche game and most people are going to find it boring fast. Not every game can cater for every player, the ones that try only end up disappointing everyone.

That is true, you cant please everyone. I do not get bored easily so im fine if stuff doesnt get updated or nothing new comes for awhile(only time i got bored was sims 4, even my ADHD would not help that game XD). I cant wait to see what the dev plans

Yeahhh you're right. I don't know why it seems like lots of other people can get creative with WQ stories and stuff but I can't... even though I'm a fantasy writer and a DM...

We'll see if they ever decide to add more.

Video-games can be like playgrounds for some people. Just like how to a kid the jungle gym can be a castle with the princess or a dungeon within the dragon's lair, or how someone would play with a dollhouse or toys, a game can be something different or more than what it actually is.

Can't remember if there's an actual term for it but I've seen it described as a "capacity to exist". Some people play games as they are while others (usually kids) find a lot of mileage with video games by filling in the space with other things.
