Then, just ... don't find a mate.
Time progresses fairly slowly, but it will progress.

So It WILL proceed to spring and then to summer, then?

Yes, it will.

The breeding season window is longer than spring and summer, but you can just stay alone and let time progress as a lone wolf.

Once you wait out the breeding season, you'll be able to claim territory (not just weaken other packs') and you'll still get to select perks on your birthday a few days into the spring. It's pretty sweet. Might even be a good idea to have a lone wolf year to take your sweet time selecting a mate, claim territory while only having to feed yourself, and get some of the better age perks before the pups come. And collect all of the skulls >:3

Tip: Being a lone wolf for a whole year is BOORING, so just imagine it as a speedrun. During the hunt newborn ungulates quest (i prefer calling it the rut), i killed a mother and baby elk and got my own hex for safety. it lasted until fall and winter for me. Just eat it when you need to and sleep.

that is true, not much activites to do as a loner, but i find it useful for my oc backstories!! yipee
