Finding Mates as a Dispersed Pup

Hello!

My 1y/o pup Meadowsweet has a dispersed save and I'm trying it out now! It says she's on the "Find a Mate" quest and the dispersals have been functioning fine, but for some reason the game seems adamant to avoid letting her court pack wolves. No matter what, a female always appears and any potential males have been very aggressive. Have the newer updates increased the difficulty of courting male pack members, or is she just too young?

You just have to wait a while for pack wolves to disperse from their packs. Males will be more likely to than females.

at 1yo youre wolf is still in their adolesent stage of life. Make watherver you want out of that.

You can find a mate as a 1 year old wolf. I don't think it's any harder. You could just be getting unlucky, or maybe certain seasons make wolves less likely to be open to courtship (I can't confirm this though.)

The game always has a few dispersals out and about, but the ideal time to find a lot of them is during breeding season, when wolves are interested and may disperse to go find a mate of their own.

Once that season passes many of those wolves have either found a partner, died, or went back home cause they hadn't found what they were looking for.

For pack wolves, certain actions will provoke them into being aggressive towards you. This can be killing packmates, howling in and marking over their territory, and you'll have to wait a few days for them to cool off. So courting a pack wolf is trickier as you kind of have to scan for them from outside their territory, then go after any colored wolf icon with a heart that you see. If you can't find any you may just have to wait a bit.

I didn't realize the cooldown was that long. I saw in an old patch note that botched pack wolf courtship had a 4 hour cooldown.
I had a chance to court a pack leader but didn't have Learn to Hunt on that wolf yet. From there just didn't leave them alone long enough for her to not be mad at me.
