Food is starting to become an ishue
I got a pack 2 breeders, 3 yearlings and 6 pups around the 13 pound mark. My wolf is at age 5 ( 1 litter before saga ) and recently i noticed that hunting has boceme quite tediouse and frequent just to feed the yerlings and my self (my dumb mate seems to like staying hungry).
Cow elks dont really feed enough of the pack and dont last as loong as they used to, bulls elk and moose are am option bu t they are much more dangerose and i did loose a young hunter (RIP skrypina) to a moose (but she teleported to it so i migth say its was a bug).

any tips on hunting that will give more food?

I find with a pack of 11 (my mate and my wolf included) adult wolves, and adding 5 pups, need one elk every two game days, thats provided the food doesnt get taken by a grizzly, then we have to hunt again. It is a wolf's life after all, not meant to be easy. You just need to hunt again, and go for lots of stam in your wolf, because ya need it.

With 5 adults and young pups a cow elk should still easily be enough to feed a pack for two sleeps, if you're feeding every time you're awake, maybe even longer (I've had 12-16 adults for so long now I'm just used to an elk lasting one sitting). Just stick to cow elk, but feed every day. If you allow your pack to grow hungry you're only causing more issues for yourself.

That woud be easy if the wolves did actualy eat every time theyire hungry and not startve until i forcefully bash them into a tree until they eat...

My wolves eat fine, I've not heard of anyone else's wolves starving themselves when food's available either. If you mean one or more wolves are regularly staying at the den, simply woof the pups in and whine until everyone is onboard with following you, then you can send someone home if you have other stuff to do.

From my personal experience you'll need to go hunting pretty often with a larger pack. Sometimes your hungry packmates will go out to hunt, but only if there's enough of them in need of food. If health is an issue in hunting, I'd suggest hanging back and just following the elk you want to hunt. Your packmates will kill it for you, and you'll conserve health.

When attacking a elk herd, you could try to lower the health of multiple elk and kill them close to each other, for longer lasting food.

Maybe try herding the elk towards your den and mule deer can be good always for a quick snack

I haven't gotten to the young hunters but every day I normally eat a mule deer or a elk to fill up

My only suggestion would be to hunt bigger prey.

I've found myself hunting more prey recently, like, 2 or 3 mule deer at a time. i mark them and go to them when i'm hungry. it works well
