As long as you're still alive your pups will be fine... You'll just have to raise them yourself, which may be difficult (especially if you don't have other packmates to help yet)

When your mate dies, you just need to continue raising your pups. You can get another mate to help you, or just raise your pups as a single-parent for a while.

With the addition of the Saga, the years will keep passing even if you don't get a mate. However, without a mate you won't have pups next year, and will simply continue living on your own, or with any existing grown-pups. The same happens if your mate dies while they are pregnant. The years will keep passing, and you will have to get a mate to have pups next year.

If your mate dies during the territory quest and their female, the game will tell you that they have died, along with your hope of pups that year. You then can either find a new mate or survive for a year.

When your mate dies when pups are born, you can get a new mate that your pups will accept- I don't think the game makes it so they don't. If you die without a mate, the pups perish, but I think if you die without a mate but you have older packmates, the pups survive? I'm not sure, but I know on your first litter if you die without a mate those pups will die.
