Questions about saga
1) How do you become a leader of a stranger wolf pack?
I have tried doing this and watching videos in slough creek with the Crevice Lake
wolves and I have spent a little more than an hour trying to do this. I can't find the
wolf I want to kill to court the other pack leader. I was playing on challenging and
ironwolf if that helps and my wolf was a male.

2) How many pack members can you have in your pack?
I was just wondering how many pack members you can have in your pack in total or if
there is no limit. I do know that pups may disperse on their own, however. I saw that
crevice lake pack had 11 subordinates or pups and 2 pack - leaders.

For the first one: Its pretty straight forward! Find the pack you want to become the leader of, go on the very edge of their territory, howl once and sleep. You'll likely wake up with a few wolves. Check for either leaders and if neither is there run out of the territory, sleep for a few seconds, then go right back and repeat. Since your wolf is a male, once the male leader spawns in kill him and retreat. I'm not sure if you have to but i slept a few times after this since the remaining lead was still aggressive whenever i met them. At some point they should be courtable!

As for your second question, I'm assuming around 15 since I currently have 13 wolves on my save. This does include pups though, not just the yearlings and subordinates. Hope i helped and good luck!

@silly covered the first question pretty well, so I won't say anything about it other then don't get upset if it doesn't work the first time. Sometimes people have been able to court the pack leader almost as soon as they kill their mate, while others have had to wait for several in-game days before they stopped being aggressive, so it takes some work, and a bit of luck, to succeed at.

For the second question, I remember @Loach saying in a different discussion that the number of wolves that can be in your pack is not a fixed number, so there is some room for variation, but I think they said the largest amount is around 10-13 (not counting pups of that year).
