Is taking over a territory/getting rid of a pack possible?
EDIT: Note to anyone trying, its maybe not worth it? A new pack gets established when you finalize your territory and move on to picking a den and they spread FAST. You'll be contesting them and keeping them off your borders the whole time.
I've just started the 5th year with a wolf of mine but I've never tried to do this before. Crevice Lake's territory, the northwest territory in Slough Creek, is almost completely gone because their pack leader died before I aged up and apparently couldn't find a new mate. I want what used to be their territory but I'm worried about being too close to their den/headquarters tile. Can I take that one over too? Will the wolves respawn? If I killed the remaining pack leader would I be able to take over the remaining land? Or will I be constantly trying to maintain my territory because I'm so close to what's left of theirs? Just wanna know before I take on this little challenge so I don't waste time.

You should be able to take over the land, so long as you know there aren't two pack leaders. If there are, you will need to kill one or both before the pack disbands.

Alright, thank you. My new pups will have a new territory to explore this year :auyay:

I've killed a pack of in one playthrough so I could take a corner and when I skipped to the pups being born a new pack set up shop right next to where my den was... So the results may vary.

But regardless of how well it goes, other packs will move in over time to compete over territory. There's no true way to permanently reduce how many are on the map at once.

How do you know who the pack leader is?

If you meet them, it says 'pack leader' in the known wolves list.
