Can NPCs join your pack in multiplayer?

Thinking of getting this but only for 2-player multiplayer, do you think it's worth it? Can NPC wolves join your pack to make things easier?

NPCs (aside from pups and new mates) do not join your pack at this time. When the saga is finished your grown pups will be a part of your pack until they decide to disperse (we don't know how this will work in MP yet).

I certainly think the game is worth it, but I think you have to have a real love of wolves and your own incentives/imagination to get the most out of this game. The life of real wolves is mostly repetitive with short moments of joy and horror.
