Multiplayer Mating system sucks
Ok so, where do I begin...
Well, Multiplayer is a good way playing with other adult wolves and establishing a larger territory and taking down bigger prey, but the mating system sucks ass.

Even if you are a female or a male wolf, you will automaticly nest with the ones you are online with, without even having the choice deciding that. Why should single player go through accepting a mate before breeding, when you can get pups with someone you havent accepted at all?

In my perspective, there should be an option here where males and females have to go through the mating accaptance option, before making pups. Like, if theres 3 females and 2 males, if 2 of those females are interested in mating, and the males agree, then the pups will be born from those 2 females and males, while the last female who doesnt want breed, wont get any pups with those males.

As it is like now, just sucks.

There is no mating system in MP by design, there are no mates allowed in MP either (hence why any "dating" language is banned). Pups are assumed to be siblings of the players.

Maybe the creator shouldnt be so worried about certain dating language, cuz that can happen even without it. In nesting online games such as the isle, beast of bermuda, soon in path of titans, theres rare cases of dating chats. Mating and neesting all together should be a choice for players in MP games regardless.

This is a PG-13 game, dating and mating are never going to be allowed in MP because it would be illegal.

You aren't really dating in wolf quest just by having the choice whether or not to get pups or to accapte a mate. Mating are already a thing in this game in single player. Anyway, a bummer legit.

The point is, there *are* no mates in MP, so you aren't having to accept any in the first place. Besides, having an AI mate and a real human interacting with you are completely different things.

it would be nice to have two wolves mate in MP like in SP but the animations could be a problem. for example, rubbing the noses or resting the muzzle could disturb the players, or the affinity between two players would not even make much sense. but I agree with you, we could also create an alternative method for mating also because two wolves dont have pups for no reason. for the problem "dating is illegal", in order not to use inappropriate language it would be enough to add the dating system between players only in the lobby without chat

Mating/dating oriented games are not permitted in WQ multiplayer, and the game alters several mechanics to avoid suggesting that two players are paired. If the game mode is “raise pups”, then it is assumed that pups are on the way, and that’s as far as it goes. Changes to this system are very unlikely to be considered.

Also, the examples mentioned have a much more indepth genetics system with mutations. Wolfquest has a simple grey or black with tint system, so there's no reason to have defined "parents". It adds nothing to gameplay, and would make no sense with the favorite pup system.

Again, there are 13 year olds and younger playing on these servers, so I am 100% behind the devs' blanket ban on any sort of mating implications. If you want to RP or seriously engage in "mate behaviour", do it in private with an adult you know.

Honestly, I don't know if I should have a say on the matter, considering I hate multiplayer and avoid it at all costs but...

I do think Anthracite is correct. Younger players are playing WolfQuest and this is a PG-13 game, therefore- it's for younger audiences mainly but some older wolfquest players- like me- play this because it's nostalgic. Airgid is also correct, it'll add nothing to gameplay and would make no sense with the favorite pup system.

As cool as it would be to have like in the Isle or other games that have that system- I don't think it's made for WolfQuest considering...what I and the other three said above this.

Other comments have been correct, but it's also important to remember that WolfQuest is as much an educational game as it is hoping to be an entertaining one. A cool part of the decision the devs made with how Multi-Player works for pups and genetics is that wolves are in family units and all members help raise the litter of pups. It's actually pretty neat.

There's nothing preventing players in the game from designating or pretending the host or certain players are the "true parents", it's just not functionally in MP games for a lot of reasons. So it's really not that deep of a thing, really. It's just how the devs decided it should work.

Going to lock this now, as it's unlikely to be changed.
