Do you have to hunt adult animals in order to increase affinity during trial period?
I'm currently in the trial period on accurate with my wolf talutah & I can't seem to get the mate affinity to increase! I've killed a few calves with him but the affinity has only gone down.

To be fair, the first two calves we killed I didn't get much of a chance to help out since they were already on really low health, but I thought I had contributed enough to killing the third calf.. It's starting to seem rather strange that affinity isn't increasing even a little!

In case his personality affects whether killing babies will increase affinity, he seems to be a lazy, bold loner.

Calves give a very little amount like 3-5 percent affinity; Adults more. I think around 20 but i could be wrong been a good month since i played on accurate. Also the accurate setting plays a role in this as well. In accurate it's harder to get affinity. And thus you will spend more time in Amethyst mountain. So yes adult animals are the best. If you aren't hunting make sure to interact with your mate.

Yep! The bigger and more difficult the ungulate you hunt together, the better the affinity gain when it is killed. I've only killed one weakened bison during a trial mate period and apparently it was enough to complete the objective. Wouldn't recommend it unless you have a confident mate.

I normally kill a cow moose and an elk (I recommend spikes, there is normally a 1/4-1/3 health one). This is enough to fill it as quickly as possible, and if a mate cant kill a moose I have no reason to keep them unless I am doing a challenge.
