There isn't really a story, more of the life of the wolf, but it is required to progress. None of the quests are really hard things to do, the first one is "Hunt two elk" the next is "Find a mate", "Claim Territory" ect, ect.

It is a pretty free play game, the quests are mostly just going to be compled as you go after you do the hunt two elk. At least to me it feels pretty free to play.

This is definitely free play. You can choose when you "progress" (as long as it is not tied to the weights of the pups). Most of the game play is dictated by what you decide to do. It is really hard to get bored of if you enjoy challenging yourself.

There's currently 2 maps/episodes/levels
amethyest mountain and slough creek.
DLC is added content you can get. There is a third episode in the works and its called tower fall.

There is also another free map, but you can't have pups on it. It's more for fun. The current DLC is a coat pack, but in a year or two Tower Fall will be out, which is about training the wolf pups to hunt. It is supposed to take place on a new map. Hopefully big horned sheep will be out soon. Also be sure to watch all of the dev blogs!

The comunity is very helpful so don't be afraid to ask if you can't figure something out - there's a lot of odd mechanics and it isn't quite like any game I've seen.

Yeah- Lost River. But its getting a DLC where you can have pups there so look out for that in the coming months on the dev blogs ^^

We don't really know since there isn't much pattern to when updates are out. Just watch the dev blogs since they'll probably hint at it. ;)
