Looks like it was just yesterday, actually! Well thank you, I hope they turn it back though, because it's not very realistic for the wolves to just respawn.
EDIT 2: But wait, my save file that I'm playing on is my original game from the day the game released. If the fix only works on new games, then mine shouldn't be affected, right?
If you have a pre-1.0q save, you can still slaughter your rivals like in the image shown. Try sleeping in the colored area(s), the remaining pack wolves will usually appear nearby which will allow you to fight them.
[BTW: It's pretty easy to go in diagonally and gradually defy the boundaries. I personally wish they would be expanded to match the map area more closely, but eh.]
I agree I wish they'd expand the map a bit more I love the Lamar river area and I can't even explore most of it cause of an invisible barrier, even if it's just to the edges of the map then the boundries im not sure why they leave so much space if it's just blocked off- IG for AI wolves, prey and stuff but... still?
It wasn't really realistic for one young wolf, and maybe their mate, to destroy three whole thriving packs in the span of like a month either, but realism in games is a give and take relationship LOL
