don't know if this is relevant can you get into task manager to see what if anything is sucking up cpu when you start the game?
It seems the suggestion is to start Task Manager first, then with it running and you monitoring it, then try starting Myst IV and see what - if anything - changes in Task Manager as the action tries to complete.
Sorry I can't help you more on this, but I don't want to ask for your email in a public forum. If I knew what it was, I could doublecheck your emails to support@cyan.com and see if there are any other possibilities that may have been missed.
If you want to email again, and let them know your username here on Steam for reference, we can check.
Download dinput.dll and place in your /bin folder.
@Halloween Jack: It would be amazing if you guys would be able to add this fix this in the native game, since plenty of people on Windows 10 can't play the game currently.
I also threw the fix in other issues with the same problem: https://steamcommunity.com/app/925940/discussions/0/2806204040007530463/

Can confirm, dinput.dll fixes launch issues
Download dinput.dll and place in your /bin folder.
Agreed, but Cyan isn't the original developer of the code and cannot update the games to include the fix.
The source code is available on the same page, and has the MIT license which can be distributed with commercial projects.
Or do you mean Ubisoft Montreal would need to add it?
