Screen Issue Fixed

For those having issue with only seeing the screen lower corner at launch in Windows10.

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Myst III Exile\Myst III English
Right click on M3.exe and select "Properties"
Click on the "Compability" tab and check the box by "Run in 640 X 480 resolution"

It fix my problem.

In the same compatibility tab try setting to windowed mode.

I have no such setting. I have tried the "Disable full-screen optimization" and running it with the compatibility of previous Windows OS's.

Sorry looks like they removed that from the compatibility tab in Windows 10.

In your Steam library right-click on Myst III, Open properties, general tab, Set Launch Options. Type in -windowed -w 480. The windowed part sets it to be windowed the “w” part is used to set the resolution which is what you type in after.

Screen Issue

When I launch Myst 3 everything is shifted into the top right corner, cutting off a portion of the screen. The selection of things is also a bit off. I've searched for an hour and none of the suggested solutions work... please help!

Could you list out everything you have tried so far?

I have managed to resolve the issue by going into the local game files and right clicking on the ResidualVM icon, going into 'properties', then 'compatibility', then 'change high DPI settings' and checking 'override high DPI scaling behaviour. Scaling performed by:' then choosing 'Application' from the drop down menu. Hit apply, ok, then launch and tah dah! Everything's centred.

@mollyerin You are an absolute legend. Changed my fullscreen_res in residualvm-override.ini after using your "high DPI" fix and it rendered PERFECTLY.
