AFter Update got this, like cant play right now
i try lauch options but same but 2 same copy

I am also having this problem is there a fix for this I was having so much fun in this game I have over 300+ hours and this update has BRICKED my game and I have tried reinstalling and done so many different things and still no fix has worked for me

My friends can play the game but not me though they dont have a 14900k either and may have something to do with it I am not sure its the only thing I can think of that I have that my friends dont

Same here. Played since beta and now that exact error with no fix anywhere I've found.

I got it working somehow, but I was fiddling with a lot of things so I can't say what worked for sure. Here's what I did.

1) reinstalled - didn't fix anything
2) went to the game directory and tried running both Back4Blood.exe and start_protected_game.exe with "run this program as an administrator" and also in "compatibility mode". Just right click the exe and go to properties, then the compatibility tab.

Here's the folder path Windows 11, or you can get there from Steam:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Back 4 Blood"

3) did the same in the EasyAntiCheat folder with EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe
4) same in the Gobi\Binaries\Win64 folder with Back4Blood.exe

I eventually got an actual EasyCheat error. After that it loaded and worked. I was just messing around and didn't think anything would work. I probably did other things, but I was doing this while studying for a chemistry exam, so I don't remember. Seems like I just got lucky.

I'm also having the same problem, currently there is no way to fix it, I can only delete the gobi folder, verify the game again to automatically re-download the missing files. Occasionally I get this error again, for unknown reasons.

I got it working so it's possible. I turned off Cloud save games, completely uninstalled, and deleted all folders that had anything to do with b4b, like the appdata/local folder. Reinstalled and fiddled with all the executables. When it started working it thought I was a new player. All achievements, etc were all gone until it synced again.

also if i turn off administrator mode the game loads but then hard locks my system and have to hard boot

ok guys I tried a few things and I got mine working I am not saying what I tried will work for you but I wish you luck

So I stopped running my game in administrator and then i added command -dx11 and launched and its working for me I hope this helps yall
