Does this game require an online connection to play?
As I have been looking into that on the internet, I am getting mixed answers from various sources, some saying yes and some saying no.

No, it does not require an online connection. I can play just fine and it does have an offline mode.

there 2 modes one online and one offline with bots,.

Nope. It did at launch mind you but enough people complained (rightfully so) and offline mode was added :)
