Also, because of the CCP.
Americans fear it because their media brainwashed them into thinking china bad.
Seriously though, tencent has been caught multiple times breaking privacy laws and farming data from players that play their games. They are also fully backed by the CCP
Probably at the behest of the Chinese government, since they can make any Chinese company basically do anything they say.
Latest update was a step in the right direction but the introduction of constant stutters are pretty unacceptable.
I swear almost every forum I go to now and after an update, I hear how peoples fps sucks. People are like, I had 300 fps but now I have stutters. I'm not a tech but why are they pushing it way pass what is needed.
Then it seems like the solutions are to cap it off.
edit:
My bad, they don't like Tencent because 50 Cent don't own it...hehehe
Plus people ignore the fact that tencent owns turtle rock, which is still an american company based in the USA therefore subject to american laws. The trucking company I worked for in the Netherlands was acquired by a chinese transport company that is owned by the chinese government, and literally nothing changed, because the company i worked for was still subject to Dutch laws. Xi Jinping didn't come along to install cameras in the toilets or anything.
I'm not pro or against china, but there is a lot of nonsense and fear mongering around.
The ccp faces accusations of human rights violations. It also loves to gather info on its own citizens, as well as certain foreign nationals.
Ten cent has been the center of several controversies about gathering information from its customers.
B4B records your voice chat, and you agreed to it to play the game, BEFORE the buyout.
These things don't just happen overnight, they take time to work out. At what point was the voice recording code added to the game?
So, there are in fact allot of things to be aware of concerning this issue.
If only it where as simple as "Durrrr, amerikans racist"
Now is ten cent going to listen in on you when you spell out a funny Winnie the Pooh meme? Not likely. It is good however to be aware of the ramifications of the buyout.
