Why are people saying not to by the game because of Tencent?
Who are Tencent? And why are they so bad?

Tencent is a Chinese multinational technology conglomerate holding company and is the world's largest video game vendor.

Also, because of the CCP.

its a company from china.

A country that bans laughter, shopping for groceries, and winnie the pooh can't possibly be bad though, right? It's not like their citizens just "disappear" when their chinese social score dips too low.......right?

Seriously though, tencent has been caught multiple times breaking privacy laws and farming data from players that play their games. They are also fully backed by the CCP

tecent is a company that bassicly owns the gaming world. some companies give all rights to them. but turtle. grinding g ear games and a few other. have them as a parent company for funding and have full creative rights to there games and tencent cannot interfere with it at all. as part of there contracts. tencent has no control over this game or its direction

Ten-Cent has been linked to a number of "data breaches" when there was unauthorized and hidden capture of customer information which was sent back to mainland China.
Probably at the behest of the Chinese government, since they can make any Chinese company basically do anything they say.

sorry. sounded like you were talking about america for a second there with yours man.. like everyone knows every country sells data to companies. how are they suppose to sell you stuff if they cant spam you?
Dan_The_Noob Dec 20, 2021 @ 11:18pm
just ignore those people... Tencent has their finger in a bunch of big pots but it has benefited most of those games more than anything.

Don't think they've outright killed a game after purchasing so ignore the fearmongers. The game will live or die on its own merit which is right now an unoptimized, buggy, unbalanced game basically in early access.
Latest update was a step in the right direction but the introduction of constant stutters are pretty unacceptable.

Because an American Company stealing and selling your data is okay, but a Chinese company stealing and selling your data is unacceptable

It might just be a coincidence, but after RTX cards came out I hear this so much.

I swear almost every forum I go to now and after an update, I hear how peoples fps sucks. People are like, I had 300 fps but now I have stutters. I'm not a tech but why are they pushing it way pass what is needed.

Then it seems like the solutions are to cap it off.

edit:

My bad, they don't like Tencent because 50 Cent don't own it...hehehe

Because people who have never been to china and will never ever go to china are afraid that tencent will sell their data to the chinese government which will in turn find out what kind of porn videos said people watch and how many times they use the toilet a day. Meanwhile they ignore that google knows literally everything about them and has sold their data to every single company in the western world. Online privacy is an illusion, unless you really, REALLY know what you are doing and you hide behind multiple layers of defense.

Plus people ignore the fact that tencent owns turtle rock, which is still an american company based in the USA therefore subject to american laws. The trucking company I worked for in the Netherlands was acquired by a chinese transport company that is owned by the chinese government, and literally nothing changed, because the company i worked for was still subject to Dutch laws. Xi Jinping didn't come along to install cameras in the toilets or anything.

I'm not pro or against china, but there is a lot of nonsense and fear mongering around.

Ten cent as a company have one out of every six employees a member of the party. Being a member of the party is NOT the equivalent of an American saying, I register and vote Democrat. With those numbers ten cent is almost directly controlled by the ccp.

The ccp faces accusations of human rights violations. It also loves to gather info on its own citizens, as well as certain foreign nationals.

Ten cent has been the center of several controversies about gathering information from its customers.

B4B records your voice chat, and you agreed to it to play the game, BEFORE the buyout.

These things don't just happen overnight, they take time to work out. At what point was the voice recording code added to the game?

So, there are in fact allot of things to be aware of concerning this issue.

If only it where as simple as "Durrrr, amerikans racist"

Now is ten cent going to listen in on you when you spell out a funny Winnie the Pooh meme? Not likely. It is good however to be aware of the ramifications of the buyout.

It could be the driver as well but haven't seen anybody reporting that reverting worked and the day before b4b update there weren't any stutter issues which means the game itself is at fault.
