Padded Vest or Scar Tissue Card
If you had to choose out of the 2, what would you pick and why?

I use Scar tissue because it gives more protection and if you are building something for rifles I would reccomend line em up more

Generally I'd take trauma/damage resist cards over scar tissue. Unless you're planning to do melee and aggro all the commons to you often I don't really find the effect of 1 less damage worth it and I'd rather take a percentage of damage off of a big hit from a special infected. I find it more worthwhile to prevent trauma damage more than general damage, because that ends up being the bigger issue in higher difficulties.

Its more for surviving. I always use the padded vest suit card. My Builds are mainly damage orientated. Just don't like zombies slapping me in the back of the head at random times.

What difficulty are you playing?

Scar tissue all the way. Padded suits stamina drawback is too much for such a small difference.

Generally speaking though scar tissue is good for small amounts of damage making it good on lower difficulties and for acid/fire on higher ones.

This is because as the ridden do more damage the -1 from scar tissue as a % of damage taken will get smaller while the plain damage resistance is constant.

For example if a common hits for 5 damage on veteran -1 damage thats a 20% damage reduction from scar tissue, if you're on no hope and they're hitting for 15-20 damage then its a 5-7.5% damage reduction not quite as good. But that drawback is pretty yikes.

It goes the otherway if you are comparing to motorcycle helmet which gives more DR and doesn't have as bad a drawback.

If you arent playing melee then something like mad dash or run like hell is better so you can avoid damage in the first place.

Wait... You're doing the harder difficulties, and you can't figure out which is better on your own? Are you using a trainer or something?

I like to hear peoples experiences towards the 2 cards.

Both cards aren't worth a slot if you're playing NH or NM because your worst enemy is trauma.

Not getting hit is more important as suggested above, speed/stamina is more important.

It's only useful with melee build where you stack damage resistance and also where Scar Tissue will shine against commons and elemental damage (tick)

If you think about your resistance against enemies only:
  • Losing -20% stamina eff for only 10% damage resist is a bad trade-off if it's your only damage resist card. Mobility is key in NH
  • -1 dmg with Scar Tissue is useless if you don't stack enough damage resist to reduce the base damage done to you before Scar Tissue reduces it by a flat number.

I don't know how good you do in No Hope but you have much better cards for a DPS deck that will help you to survive.
I generally don't use either of the cards in my builds. Unless its something I can buy with copper on a map that has it available for purchase.
