My FPS never dropped below 90 with DLSS on Balanced and Fidelity on because it made the game look sharper, I was playing on Max settings in 1080p
so I'd say it's pretty good, for a game in 2021, I've not heard many complaints about performance overall but I've heard there's some issue on AMD GPU's
From what I've seen it's pretty hard to make a game with Unreal Engine that runs poorly, if it does then your PC is probably either really out of date or you've got some software issues.
playing games != design, script understand engines and so on
Steam is full of vaporware cash grabs made by a couple people using stock assets from the engine, and they all run pretty smooth usually. And specifically with Unreal I don't think I've played one with bad performance in a at least a decade.
If a game heavily modifies the engine then that's a different story, but B4B is pretty much just the generic FPS that Unreal was practically built for.
and no its not just when somebody heavily modifies the engine
There's plenty of things to discredit the devs for but engine choices wasn't one of them.
Tbh most games in general run pretty well these days, I think CP2077 was one of the few recent times I can think of where one ran slow for me.
