RECOMMENDED PC SPECS
CPU Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 7 1800X
GPU GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 590
RAM 12GB
STORAGE 25GB SSD
OS WINDOWS 10 64-bit
DX DIRECTX 11

That's the recommended so if you come close to that you should be able to run it.

hopefully SOON WE NEED INFO!
Myta Sep 20, 2021 @ 1:16pm
Ryzen 5 2600X 4.2Ghz
RTX 2070 Super XC Black Edition
16 Gb DDR4 RAM 2400Mhz
1TB Hybrid Drive

My FPS never dropped below 90 with DLSS on Balanced and Fidelity on because it made the game look sharper, I was playing on Max settings in 1080p

so I'd say it's pretty good, for a game in 2021, I've not heard many complaints about performance overall but I've heard there's some issue on AMD GPU's

3 weeks until release. Come on, devs. Update the store page with minimum requirements.

Game is fine performance wise.
From what I've seen it's pretty hard to make a game with Unreal Engine that runs poorly, if it does then your PC is probably either really out of date or you've got some software issues.

...Game engines don’t magically do your job for you. If you write bad code or organize your art assets poorly, which is easy to do, your game will run poorly no matter what engine you’re using.

Unreal could use the most efficient lossless compression algorithm ever, but if you don’t understand how to use Material Instances then you’re probably going to shoot the draw call count through the roof and tank your framerate. That’s to say little of how you organize the textures on your models, which can also be done badly so as to inflate the number and size of texture maps beyond what’s practical given the number of characters and unique objects you have in a scene. Meanwhile its core game framework could be the most efficiently programmed thing ever, but if you personally make a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ isometric sorting algorithm that sets the position of every sprite in a scene every single frame then you will waste a ton of processing...

playing games != design, script understand engines and so on

True, I'm not a developer, that's why I said "from what I've seen".
Steam is full of vaporware cash grabs made by a couple people using stock assets from the engine, and they all run pretty smooth usually. And specifically with Unreal I don't think I've played one with bad performance in a at least a decade.

If a game heavily modifies the engine then that's a different story, but B4B is pretty much just the generic FPS that Unreal was practically built for.

non the less, post intent feels like a need to discredit devs from being competent, and i think you can find bad optimised games for unreal

and no its not just when somebody heavily modifies the engine

Post intent was to say that the game runs well because it has a solid engine.
There's plenty of things to discredit the devs for but engine choices wasn't one of them.
Tbh most games in general run pretty well these days, I think CP2077 was one of the few recent times I can think of where one ran slow for me.

Yes unreal 4 is solid engine, still incompetent devs can screw things easily
