Playing with friends across different country

Is it possible to play with friends across the country? Example: NA and SEA.
Just want this question answered before buying the game because i heard it is not worth it if you are playing solo. Especially how stupid ai are.

Yes. I play with friends 4000 miles away and despite the high ping it's very good. Not sure how they deal with the ping but they do.

Just really curious. Since i recently moved to another country and got no one to play with because i think you won't progress to the game playing solo? Not sure, correct me if im wrong.

I could play with my friend and she was from Canada. I also bumped into a console player who had 800 SOLID ping. So i'm going to assume he was also from a different country.

This is really sad to read. Thinking this game is the l4d "3".
I just wanted to play with friends in campaign just like old days but it seems that wouldn't be easy. Or maybe impossibe

What country are you in when playing with your friend from canada and is it on campaign?

as an Australian playing with mostly NA friends and some in Europe, latency/ping in this game isn't that bad. can be noticeable at times but doesn't really hinder the game experience
