Solo mode with progression?

I want to play solo mode due to not wanting to play with random players but i can't progress at all, no supply points, achievements or anything so then i tried starting a run in campaign but i set t to private and closed but it says i cannot start it without at least 2 players? Is there no way to play solo without losing progression?

Start private with friend, have friend leave
It's dumb but yeah you have to do that and you'll still be on a dedicated server until they actually make Solo Campaign worth playing. Blame Warner Bros

just play veteran nonstop and unlock cards all day.. you dont need progression you need promotion!!

Well, good news is they're aware people want it changed. On their trello board, single player progression is listed under active development, while being able to unlock the other 4 characters in solo is listed under the almost ready section. So probably not too long until this just isn't an issue anymore.

You can buy any coop based game and play it perfectly fine solo.

Deep Rock Galactic

Yeah this exactly, i play with my friends normally but i still want to progress and get more cards and supply points solo while they aren't online. I don't mind playing with randoms but in this game i've had pretty bad groups being toxic with each other or me and such so i'd rather only play with my friend group or solo and like the examples listed those games work and play perfectly fine solo and in a group.
