FIRST-person only?
The game's stills are almost all in, or give the vibe of THIRD-person, and given the game is an effective Left 4 Dead sequel (same developers, right?), can one assume that the game will offer a third-person option, as the L4D game did (albeit, being via dev console codes / mods)...?

Or, is this already confirmed as just another lazily developer, floating camera lens shooter...?

Sidebar:
What's with persisting with the laughably obvious and futile sales ploy of hiding the generic and copy-pasta look of all FPS games, by effectively advertising them as TPS's? Why not simply show the disembodied, floating hands suture to an anonymous face, that all first-person perspective games boil down to...? It's not like anyone discerning enough to stipulate a TP option in their generic shooter games, will fall for such cynical advertising tactics in c.2021 🙄

Infected play seems to be from the perspective of 3rd person - likely to give the infected the ability to corner peek and be stealthier.

As for the shooting side of things - who knows. I never realized some people thought 3rd vs. 1st was the most important feature of a video game.

It is / isn't. Just fps and coop games usually in fps now. Rarely 3rd person. Gets stale like the tags: zombie opem world survival early access multiplayer
Without a TP option, all environmental interaction and character customisation is gimped by default, if not rendered non-existent.

It's 2021 (in a few hours, as of typing), and for multi-multi-million-dollar [shooter] games to lack a TP option, is nothing but a tacit "🖕" to gaming consumers -- i.e., "You'll hungrily lap up whatever new, shiny turd we squelch into your dog bowls... So, why bother trying?".

Fun First-Person Fact #9812903481209348:
First-person play perspective is noting but a religion-like remnant of the gaming Dark Ages -- when the technology did not exist to fully render an on-screen player avatar.

First person is a completely different experience from third person so it's a bit strange to just chuck it up to some kind of artificial hindrance in technology. With that being said I don't really mind if the game has a toggle option but PvP playlists should be separated to avoid the camera abuse that comes with third person.

For real?

It's one thing to have a personal preference, but it's another to claim that a developer is giving you a middle finger for not using your preferred perspective.

If 1st person is the deliberate gimping of character customization options because "developer is lazy and hates us," then you can argue 3rd person can easily be the deliberate choice behind infusing a title with cosmetic microtransactions.

How have you not considered the fact that 3rd person enables the use of corner peeking, which fundamentally changes a game's combat and playstyle in PvP, something neither every player, nor every developer wants? To say nothing of atmosphere/design choice - it's SOMEWHAT possible that a game involving zombies and hordes *wants* you to feel overwhelmed and claustrophobic when you're swarmed, instead of having a clear view of your surroundings while you sip tea.

Not every shooter can be Fortnite. And that's... okay.

Steam forums are so special, LMAO.
