DLC stuff. If you don't have the DLC, you can't launch Act 5 or 6 by yourself.
If a friend owns those DLCs, and they're in your lobby, then you can play those maps.
The only thing you don't get access to are the DLC characters, like Tallboy girl and Prophet Dan.
I'm pretty sure you can also earn DLC-specific rewards, like Skull Totems, dunno if you can spend them.

I play here and there with gamepass and yes you can go into the hives, still not sure exactly what those are and you get the skull totems as well as ability to use them. Last time i played was at launch so all the new stuff is beyond me.
Still pretty annoying game honestly but decent enough for a drop in and play for a few.

Yee the new stuff for you would be anyone that owns the second DLC. Much like Hives spawning in any map, you now get Duffel Bags with exclusive rewards and some skin stuff. Duffel Bags are equipped in your utility slot, like toolkits, but if you ping them, a bot will pick them up too.
Bots will also pick up toolkits if you ping them. Pinging a locked door (like a prepper stash) will make bots use a toolkit on it, if they have one.
