If you have friends that will play this game with you then sure. Just make sure you get this game when its on sale since its not worth paying full price. Sites like Greenmangaming have steam keys currently on sale for $12 usd for the base game or $19 for the deluxe.

And yes, it's been abandoned. TRS/Tencent just wont make that statement directly because they already know they made a ♥♥♥♥ game. Most if not all the "fanboys" are secondary accounts from TRS/Tencent PR to do damage control for the reviews it gets. In reality, the approval should be much, much lower.

People will tell you it's not abandoned, because TRS said they're "finished" with it.

What I'll tell you is this is a live service game that is no longer being updated. TRS said loosely and non-committedly, they 'might' return in future, no date, no guarantee. Evolve has failed, some other game they made failed, and B4B has been failing for a very long time.

It's way better than it was in live beta, fair amount of polish went into the game but every single bug they patched out either came back, or was replaced by a new bug. You will find bugs that will force you to restart levels or even entire chapters. Only 1 teamwipe is allowed, then it's your last chance to complete the chapter, unless you have a rather expensive card that you won't get until you've unlocked a ton of cards already.

if you compare b4b to l4d like the devs tried to make us do then your ganna have a bad time. its better to think of it as another zombie shooter game. its a fine game for what it is.

as others said, try and play with firends. its a known joke that that hardest "corruption card" in game is "random people online". my mate who got me the game and who has all the dlcs says the first dlc is 100% worth it and the others are so-so and if you want the dlcs to get the pass, as it saves you a bit of cash

Then again, literally anything is more enjoyable in good company, so that should tell you all you need to know.

If you really want it, go for it. Just remember these things first:
1) Just play with friends, alright? If you're gonna solo queuing, just get another game
2) Wait until sale or buy it on a different website entirely. It's not worth it to get this game at it's current price
3) You better think of it as another zombie shooting game. It's a fine game for what it is. Not amazing, just fine

You’ll find some fun in it if you liked the left 4 dead formula and it does have its moments of being a pretty enjoyable game but everyone’s right, devs promised more support after the launch of dlc 3, instead went radio silent and then suddenly announced they were no longer supporting the game, even for bug fixes. They straight up lied.

All in all though, I do still think the game is pretty fun and worth it. Even if the live service aspect is pretty much dead, the game has offline support which is nice.

If you can get it on sale it is worth it imo.
I like the card decks so you can make fun builds.
There is also a rogue-lite element so you can find additional cards during the chapter so you can have more than those in your deck.
This can create some really crazy builds, especially if you get some good legendary weapons or weapon attachments.

I'm really enjoying it tbh. I skipped all the l4d fan boy stuff and didn't play it too much early on when it was getting most of its hate. Play your first run through either solo or with friends on the low difficulty as the story is surprisingly interesting when you pay attention to it. Nightmare/No Hope is where my fun is as it's quite hard

In short no, wait for it to be on sale first then get it, preferably with the DLC. This game is pretty good, it's not great and it's not L4D 3 but it could been. The saddest thing about this game is that only after 2 years the DEVS stopped supporting it however that does not mean it is not worth your time and it does not mean it's bad, I left a review give it a read if you have the time, it should tell you all you need to know.
