I'm a big fan of bow weapons and i agree with this. Maybe they are worried it could be too OP if they buff it any further. I don't even think it benefits from bullet damage cards, although I haven't tested it. There is a lot of cool things they can do with it like add fire and stun damage attachments, bleed damage. I was struggling to find a use for it that another gun couldn't do better, so perhaps TRS will revisit and give the bow a more practical use. Right now I wouldn't use it to kill common or special infected, in any circumstance. Maybe with special effects like stun, bleed or burn, i might use the bow first then switch to another gun.
I mean, surely they didn't just reuse the model from the new archer enemy's bow and call it a day?
Hopefully they add ammo types to this game, and the bow would be primed for flame or explosive rounds
sadly there is no dusty customs that drops it AFAIK
Thanks!
Giving it any kind of benefit over the other secondaries, without giving all secondaries infinite ammo, is kind of an eh? idea.
Also, mid tier damage? what? A fully charged shot deals as much damage as a bare Barrett, with no cards, or any other modifiers? Also it has to have some level of piercing, and stumble, every projectile does in b4b, even the grenades when they impact with a ridden. Just currently for more than a few of us no attachments means no way to test its strength, without digging around in the game files.
Per projectile the only bare sidearm that beats it in terms of raw strength, is the Belgian, until you fully charge the bow, then its stronger than the Belgian, I find the projectiles of the bow are actually a little generous on making contact with weak-spot hit boxes.
So in my opinion its a fantastic sidearm, the shooting mechanics need to be refined, i'm unsure of the dev's consulted with an expert, or if the mechanics are as they are because of some of design factor? (i'm choosing to believe its just an oversight, considering how good the guns feel)
When you find it on an AR, or LMG build, grab it, use it against bosses, learn its arc, have a good time, you should have a few accuracy card's as a part of your build, just don't disable your iron sights, or you will have a bad time, as its accuracy is only 70, so unless you are standing still, and crouching, your shot's will be wild.
It kind of reminds of when you unlocked the bow in Resident Evil 5, you think its trash, till you learn its mechanics.
by the time you draw, aim, fire, and the bow projectile lands, you can already have fired 2-3 barret/pheonix shots, so I would say it's pointless to compare a single bow projectile against a sniper bullet
you're just making a good case for buffing the barrett. That is my favorite weapon but it's not very popular right now.
