Bow is kinda mid
- has a draw time, meaning every shot has a delay
- not hitscan, made worse by low tickrate servers
- no stumble (?) lol

- non-ADS mode
mid fire rate, still suffers from draw time
- in ADS mode
- low fire rate + mid tier damage, can't one shot specials
- shots have ridiculously low ACC unless full charged, meaning if you ADS, you instantly have a lower ACC than non-ADS

The only benefit is that it has infinite ammo + it's a secondary. Which is kinda sad because I would have preferred if it were the same tier as barret/pheonix and turned it into a primary.

I'm a big fan of bow weapons and i agree with this. Maybe they are worried it could be too OP if they buff it any further. I don't even think it benefits from bullet damage cards, although I haven't tested it. There is a lot of cool things they can do with it like add fire and stun damage attachments, bleed damage. I was struggling to find a use for it that another gun couldn't do better, so perhaps TRS will revisit and give the bow a more practical use. Right now I wouldn't use it to kill common or special infected, in any circumstance. Maybe with special effects like stun, bleed or burn, i might use the bow first then switch to another gun.

It's got that bit on the end just before the arrowhead that can be set on fire. I just haven't figured out how yet.

I mean, surely they didn't just reuse the model from the new archer enemy's bow and call it a day?

Hopefully they add ammo types to this game, and the bow would be primed for flame or explosive rounds

Everyone talks about the arc, but I finished the act twice as a rookie, once as a veteran and once as a nightmare. I picked up 26 bags, I tested the claws but the bow, I never found it?! I try to reload the hideout in the prison, but still nothing wtf

The mechanics of the bow, kind of leave a lot to be desired, but it is a silent secondary mid ranged weapon with infinite ammo.

Giving it any kind of benefit over the other secondaries, without giving all secondaries infinite ammo, is kind of an eh? idea.

Also, mid tier damage? what? A fully charged shot deals as much damage as a bare Barrett, with no cards, or any other modifiers? Also it has to have some level of piercing, and stumble, every projectile does in b4b, even the grenades when they impact with a ridden. Just currently for more than a few of us no attachments means no way to test its strength, without digging around in the game files.

Per projectile the only bare sidearm that beats it in terms of raw strength, is the Belgian, until you fully charge the bow, then its stronger than the Belgian, I find the projectiles of the bow are actually a little generous on making contact with weak-spot hit boxes.

So in my opinion its a fantastic sidearm, the shooting mechanics need to be refined, i'm unsure of the dev's consulted with an expert, or if the mechanics are as they are because of some of design factor? (i'm choosing to believe its just an oversight, considering how good the guns feel)
When you find it on an AR, or LMG build, grab it, use it against bosses, learn its arc, have a good time, you should have a few accuracy card's as a part of your build, just don't disable your iron sights, or you will have a bad time, as its accuracy is only 70, so unless you are standing still, and crouching, your shot's will be wild.

It kind of reminds of when you unlocked the bow in Resident Evil 5, you think its trash, till you learn its mechanics.

the bow projectile base damage is not mid, but the practical DPS is no where near the other snipers

by the time you draw, aim, fire, and the bow projectile lands, you can already have fired 2-3 barret/pheonix shots, so I would say it's pointless to compare a single bow projectile against a sniper bullet

Can you riddle to me how a bow is equal to a Barrett in ANY regard? I'll wait.

you're just making a good case for buffing the barrett. That is my favorite weapon but it's not very popular right now.

That's because a bow is archaic and primitive and simple and a Barrett is an anti material rifle lol.

I just want to know what cards benefit the bow, and how. I wanted to do a Hanzo build, because why not.
