Regarding Gunplay, i think you are right tho, i feel like going back to l4d2 i gotta get used to the guns now, maybe because of the engine which is good but old and is much more closer to older shooters.
No reason to hate on another good game to make a point on what you like on B4B.
I played 100 hours of B4B and enjoy it but i feel like a lot of stuff could be better, but still overall it's ok as a title.
It's also not 'enough' of an evolution considering the age difference~ like for example how does it not have even half the melee features and gore mechanics that Killing Floor 2 has?
I think he/she/it is referring to this video: https://youtu.be/XZIGZtO34H0

You should watch Crowb Cat's Back 4 Blood vs Left 4 Dead video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdRLNUGmFC8
The gunplay, gore and ragdolls in B4B are all disappointing, the characters in B4B are cringe worthy and they all have the same personality (In other words, the game has Avengers syndrome.), the story in B4B is poorly written, the majority of the characters look silly and out of place (They look like Fortnite characters), it is hard but not in the way L4D series, Dark Souls series, Code Vein, and Halo: Reach are hard, it has too many alarms, it goes for quantity over quality, the weapons all function the same gameplay wise, the game is over designed, and so many other issues.
For more information, please watch Crowbcat's video talking about why Back 4 Blood proves Valve carried L4D: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdRLNUGmFC8
That is why L4D2 has way more players than B4B. (Also B4B has no mod support while L4D series has mod support)
