Back 4 Blood is a better game than Left 4 Dead
If you think a 13 year old game with zero progression, the same unchanging enemies every level, shallow gunplay, identical playable characters, is better than Back 4 Blood then you're just a fanboy/girl. Take off those nostalgia glasses fanboy/girl.

I like B4B for what it is, but some people prefer having no stuff to progress over in their games and at the end fun is what people play for, B4B has the same unchanging enemies every level at the end aswell and the character while different (like they are ten or some stuff like this) don't explode of personality while the dynamic 4 of L4D2 and L4D1 had a lot more going for them as well as Warhammer Vermintide 2, also while there are a lot of characters in this game they are not that different at the end (they just have a stat thing applied to them or a sort of little bonus) if they actually had abilities unique for themself like Overwatch i think we could dwell better in their differences, but that is a thing that someone may agree on or not.

Regarding Gunplay, i think you are right tho, i feel like going back to l4d2 i gotta get used to the guns now, maybe because of the engine which is good but old and is much more closer to older shooters.

No reason to hate on another good game to make a point on what you like on B4B.

I played 100 hours of B4B and enjoy it but i feel like a lot of stuff could be better, but still overall it's ok as a title.

I swear to god if the video you're talking about is the crowbcat video i'm going to leave such a long winded message that you won't even bother reading it

Go play Atari games and have fun if you don't need progression.

I think where B4B falls short the most is the characters aren't very appealing compared to the L4D ones.

It's also not 'enough' of an evolution considering the age difference~ like for example how does it not have even half the melee features and gore mechanics that Killing Floor 2 has?

I honestly don't care about unlocks and progression. Where B4B blows L4D out of the water is the core gameplay, and the complexity of that gameplay in my opinion. Gunplay, resource management, and movement are all far superior in B4B, and the deck system allows for even more depth in all those systems.

After I played through the game, I doubt it's better than Left 4 Dead 1 and 2. People like Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 better than Back 4 Blood because the characters are more likable and realistic, Back 4 Blood has Marvel levels of cringe characters that all have the same personality. The gun play in Left 4 Dead 2 is more satisfying than Back 4 Blood, shooting zombies and slashing zombies in L4D is more fun than the lame and disappointing gore in B4B. And B4B has lack of details that L4D has.
You should watch Crowb Cat's Back 4 Blood vs Left 4 Dead video.

There is a reason why B4B failed while L4D1 and L4D2 are successful.

The gunplay, gore and ragdolls in B4B are all disappointing, the characters in B4B are cringe worthy and they all have the same personality (In other words, the game has Avengers syndrome.), the story in B4B is poorly written, the majority of the characters look silly and out of place (They look like Fortnite characters), it is hard but not in the way L4D series, Dark Souls series, Code Vein, and Halo: Reach are hard, it has too many alarms, it goes for quantity over quality, the weapons all function the same gameplay wise, the game is over designed, and so many other issues.

For more information, please watch Crowbcat's video talking about why Back 4 Blood proves Valve carried L4D: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdRLNUGmFC8

That is why L4D2 has way more players than B4B. (Also B4B has no mod support while L4D series has mod support)

I loved L4D series and played past 2k hours in the last decade but after a few hundred hours in B4B, going back to L4D is like talking to my still fit and in good shape 90 year old granny. Once in a while i visit her but mostly i stay with the other younger family members. I want to say that playing L4D is not so satisfying anymore. I try to ping stuff and the moving is like on a soap. I miss the system with the cards and all the different weapons and possibilities. The characters in B4B i like in the meantime more and gathering together in Fort Hope with friends is awesome, preparing for another run. Thank you L4D, it was awesome, i loved you but i also like to look forward. Most of my old L4D buddies are now playing B4B and we have a lot of fun.
