When it eats you or overall ? I mean it eats you so you gotta go somewhere, and i'm sure the belly must be very elastic/ stretchy in that case, hence it possibly appearing protruding.

It's like a toad's jaw sack. It massively increases in size due to its elasticity whenever needed. The Hag's belly does the same thing when eating someone. It's essentially a big sack.
