I wish I could. My team is more advanced in the game than I am and they can manage to beat the first 2 whole Veterans Acts. When I'm with the team though we MIGHT beat a map or two tops after multiple tries, but that's it. Most of the time we just fail due to map 1 bosses and so get zero supply points and quit after 1-2 hours in Veterans. Then the team will go back to Recruits on my behalf to help me get points for cards since I have the fewest cards and only just unlocked speed/mobility cards...but I know they don't like Recruits, and I find it boring and demoralizing too. I wish I could just play solo and get supply points. Some randoms I get alert everything and make even recruits seem like veterans difficulty. I play just fine with bots until actual humans join in.
Does Vetarans award more points then, I assume? The highest points I've gotten was 45 and lowest was like 10.
Yeah, but here I am. Just farming Act 1 Recruits again and again. All totaled the Act grants roughly 500 points over 2 hours time invest (not speed running). With any luck maybe I can get it done if I grind hard over the weekend. I'm up around 90 cards right now.
It costs around 20k i think to unlock all the cards. The last supply lines are the expensive appocalypse cosmetic cards too. so maybe 15k to get all gameplay cards. I was also basing my estimate of 500 points per hour on veteran with some failures to unlock every card.
Now, after unlocking all cards/outfits (except ZWAT and Battle-Hardened) and completing all Acts except Nightmare (can't find serious team), I am just playing Veteran difficulty while trying out challenges I made for myself. They help me learn to play better and test myself in various conditions and circumstances. I find that they make me better at the game.
Challenges such as:
Knife-only (melee) build
Use card that turns bash into knife, and drop all weapons and ammo. Survive with only knife, and make a deck that focuses on melee cards.
This challenge will teach you to rely on attacking weakspots up close, not relying on stumble and to learn how to kite enemies since enemies don't stumble from knife attacks unlike with bats.
Pistol/Tec-9/Beigian-only (damage) build
Use card with infinite Secondary weapon ammo, drop primary weapon and all ammo, survive with only Pistol/Tec-9/Belgian. I use a high-damage, high-accuracy, fast-reload, high-bullet penetration deck for this.
For different pistols, I use different dedicated decks, since, for example, a Glock 23 Auto plays different from a Glock 23, so I use different builds and attachments for each.
This challenge teaches you how to fight without using high-power ammo, learn how to position yourself for range and to focus on weakspots to do most damage.
Fist-only (no weapons) build
Drop all weapons and ammo, do not equip Knife card. Use only fists to survive by bashing your way out of hordes. Able to use Stun Gun and Breakout to break free of grasps. For this build, I go for move-speed, high-stamina and high-health cards.
This challenge teaches you how to move fast, avoid enemies and be an efficient as possible in surviving and reaching the end ASAP.
Survivor (no healing) build
Do not accept heals, do not heal yourself, survive with only the health you already have. For this build, the only health allowed from others is the temporary health gained when others kill enemies. Or if you want, you can get allies to not equip any card that grants temporary health to teammates.
This challenge teaches you how to position and defend yourself to avoid taking damage, be careful around corners and learn how to evade enemies when surrounded.
Low Ammo (no restocking/buying ammo) build
Do not restock ammo, do not buy or pick up ammo. Survive with only the ammo you have at the start of the mission.
This challenge teaches you how to better and more efficiently use your ammo, aiming properly and targeting weakspots to conserve ammo.
-----------------------
For all these Challenges, try to complete Acts 1-3 on Veteran difficulty.
They are fun to try and can make the game more challenging and interesting than Nightmare difficulty.
Yes that sounds about right...Veterans time invest is halved makes more sense. I'll be working on it over the weekend. Did try veterans again, this time with randoms, beat one map but damn just can't get much farther. XD
