SDK & Workshop
I know that it was and is common knowledge we won't get a sdk + workshop. But is it official?
Is there any source where devs wrote this.

For me it could be the only thing that could safe the game.

Does anyone know something like a petition for a b4b sdk^^

the game has crossplay, of course it won't have mod support.

not ruling out people making offline mods somehow.

Crosspaly is not necessarily without mod support.
It's very simple to enable the crossplay funtction for official stuff, and disable the function for community stuff.

the last thing you want in a game nowadays is to divide the playerbase.
when the DLC comes out, people are gonna complain about long matchmaking because map/level content isn't going to be a free update. OR they'll complain about never getting DLC content (if they don't split matchmaking)

The main issue is that the Steam workshop is.. on Steam. Consoles don't have Steam as far as I understand it. It is possible but it's barely functional especially for multiplayer. You essentially need a Steam account with a games library that includes B4B in order to log into it with Geforce Experience Now or w/e, to access that library. This is a very recent development too (this method is like a month or so old from the articles I've found) and it's highly likely that Workshop functionally cannot be accessed via consoles in this way. Steam games work, Steam functionally is severely limited to just launching games for you.

It'd require Valve to integrate Steam into consoles officially, specifically for Xbox and Playstation which are 2 different consoles. That would take ages, and it would be costly.

With that being said, a lot of people can't stand controller users and just put crossplay off in the first place. This game's code isn't great, mods will eventually come out for it whether it's allowed or not. If it does, PC players will just go offline and play with mods to have fun, they might even have client side mods like skins that they can download and only see on their screens which is largely what L4D had as well.

so, you don't have a official statement ?
This was the question. Not what's good or bad at workshop or sdk.^^

The Steam Workshop is out of TRS' hands, it's up to Valve if they want to integrate with consoles to make the workshop available for all users (so 99.99 with a lot more 9's % chance, no) but user created mods could be a thing on PC, they'd either be client side or Offline Mode only.
Their official statement was "Not at this time." but I don't see that changing in a few years at least.

SDK and workshop don't need to be integrated in console versions.
It's no question if steam workshop will be integrated to consoles or not.

More important as to enable crossplay at any cost is: Have enough players in general.
The playerbase currently is dropping very fast. And i don't see any reason this will change. Crossplay or not.

But sdk and workshop could change this. At least for pc.
The good mods/maps could be officially integrated for console users too... wouldn't be difficult, wouldn't be anything new and won't need steam workshop.

This is a very dumb fix, but if you are playing the game using Steam you need to go into your SAVEDATA folder here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sonic Adventure DX

.....and freaking delete it. What is happening is the game is trying to load save data from Steam (which there is none) instead of the Mod Loader (which is actually saving things properly). Useless freaking folder.
