Back 4 Blood
Webroot Breaks EAC after every update. FIX THIS!
I've played this game since the Early Access a few days before its worldwide release. Had trouble with the EAC always crashing after the first update a few days after the games release. Was able to bypass it by white-listing the game in Webroot AV. Since the Nov. 9th update, which I WAS excited about, it permanently broke the EAC start up. Nothing will work, White-listing the exe, turning off Webroot AV, verifying files, uninstalling & re-installing; NOTHING. You'd think TRS would learn after having so many people who use Webroot would learn after their first update that semi broke the EAC. I guess they didn't. Fix soon, or ALOT of people, me included, want a refund.

I have a fix.

Open Webroot.

Click on the gear to the right of "PC Security"

Click "Allowed Scripts"

Click "Allow File"

Allow File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Back 4 Blood\Gobi\Binaries\Win64\Back4Blood.exe

Test.

If it does not start, try allowing the Back4Blood.exe and start_protected_game.

I went crazy trying to allow everything I could for it to play.
Once I found the file that was crashing through Error report (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Back 4 Blood\Gobi\Binaries\Win64\Back4Blood.exe) and allowed it in Scripts, it started working for me.

I tried white listing B4B and all EAC files. That doesn’t help at all. I didn’t try scrips.
Did you try it? Did it work?

I included both the EAC and the B4B.exe in my Block/Allow files tab and Allow Scripts tab and it works. Thanks for finding this solution
I contacted Webroot support and they provided me with a fresh new build of Secureanywhere to test. B4B launched perfectly without white listing anything. SOLVED.

how do I obtain this fresh build myself? I have had an on-going ticket open with webroot team, and i have sent them this link (to this thread) requesting new build but they keep referring me to global escalation. I just want the fresh build even if its beta!

Use Kaspersky or Windows Defender.
have no problem with either of them, the problem is clearly your webroot antivirus.

It's not just me though, my friend also has Webroot AV and its f*cked for him too. So TRS just doesnt compensate for Webroot. Oh well, looks like it'll get fixed or I'll get my money back

nobody uses webroot. Use Windows Defender like a normal PC user. Problem solved. Or you can continue and be stubborn, trying to use an obvious bad program called Webroot.
