Why many players don't heal at Vendor?
I often see many players buy the 300 copper medpack and heal themselves with it instead of paying the cheaper 100 copper to heal at Vendor while in Safe Room.

These players also don't have Charitable Spirit card and they are healing themselves, but even if they have this card and heal others, it is still more expensive than using the Vendor.

When I saw players do this in Recruit difficulty a few weeks ago, I just thought they didn't know about the Vendor healing, but I also see players in Veteran and Nightmare do this, so they must know about the healing at Vendor but they don't use it.

Is there any benefit to healing with medpack/bandage instead of healing at Vendor?

Wiki says medpack heals trauma damage at the green and above level upgrade, which could be grounds to do that over vendor, which doesn't provide trauma healing.

I use Temp health builds on Veteran and don't play Recruit, so on Veteran I won't actually heal away my trauma because I can build temp in it's place without having to use healing items or buy the healing

Trauma isn't worth a 300 copper kit 5 HP heal. Stay behind your team and wait for a medical cabinet. If you really want to, 400 copper will get you a lot more trauma heal than a 300 copper kit, and that's if everyone took your charge.

there's no tutorial explaining trauma or how to recover it. I literally had someone teach me during a run on my first game. I don't think its intuitive either, people thought medkits shouldn't be any different from wall-medkits, yet they are.

What I'd do to have a L4D-esc mechanic where you get basic supplies at the start of each mission. 4 medkits, 2 ammo piles for each weapon type, and an assortment of weapons to use, instead of this scavenger bs where everyone takes each other's ♥♥♥♥. It would still happen, it just wouldn't handicap you as much. Increase the price of items in the shops to offset this, rather than give players who are struggling an even harsher experience.

Hell, be intuitive, if you're a specific character, you get a specific type of healing item that spawns in the safe room. Mom could get pills, Doc could get medkits, etc.

This current system leads to everyone using Money Grubbers. Why wouldn't you? It's such a broken card it'd be stupid not to take it.

My friend rocks a pretty good Doc build, and he can heal 30-40 trauma with medkits later on. Which is more than the first-aid cabinets heal. Once he gets that build going, there is no point to using first-aid cabinets unless we just ran out of medkits. We often buy medkits and heal up at the shop before starting a level. Doc also runs compound interest so we drop him all our money at the end of a stage as it gives a 10% bonus on that at the start of the next one. We often finish vet runs with 5-10k copper spare at the end.
