Shoot the Ogre or Run away?
Talking about the Ogre in 1-2 here and im just kind of curious. On Vet atleast ive seen people run more and Recruit ive seen them kill it. whats your guys' consensus on what to do? Vet ogre ive seen kind of just melt us and the horde it summons overwhelm us in the nearby maintence area while killing it seems to be hit or miss quite literally.

Our strat for nightmare is to run pass the first part with two pipebombs and a nade for door/tallboy. After when getting to the 2nd half, just camp in the room before the 2nd ogre spawn point and lower his hp until he runs. Trigger for spawning the ogre is slightly pass the truck right outside the door. Safer and easier to go though the tunnel without dealing with the ogre and the horde.
even on nightmare people kill it. 1-3 people stay up in the safe room and the rest of the players pull him to the room on normal - vet its super easy, on nightmare bad corruption card rng can f*ck you over. as every map on nightmare its more rng than skill (i dont call speedrunning skill and even that can be f*cked over by rng)

2 ways. Everyone stays at the saferoom, melee drops down, spawns the ogre, runs back. Melee can hide under the wooden balcony while the team does their best to cover. Melee can handle the commons while the 3 guys on top snipe specials and the ogre obviously. It's safer to have a defib just in case.

2nd way is to rush towards the doorway inside the tunnel, and hold out inside the room where the Ogre can't enter while you snipe it. Similar strat for the exit tunnel. The melee spawns and then guards the rear while the range pick shots at it from inside. When the arm peeks in to grab you can shoot the weakspot near its shoulder.

3 Strats that work well:

- 1st: Kill it. Have one drop down and aggro the ogre, the other 3 hammer down the justice from the saferoom. Repeat on his second spawn but deal with the horde and specials first. The easiest but most (ammo-) costly way

- 2nd: Run all the way. First clear everything up to the spawn trigger point. Then run for it, throw a nade and hope for the best while getting to safety. Repeat with the second spawn but have a nade ready to deal with specials along your second running part. Take a route over the burning car on the far right to get rid of some riddens (heh).

- 3rd: both? both! Take the first run to the tunnel because its the most easiest run. You might have to stop shortly to get through an alarm door with help of the ridden. Then fight the ogre at his second spawn to 50% - then he despawns. I like this way a lot in Nightmare.

This is for NM only, if we get Acid/Fire zombies or Lockdown we stay and do the 1st fight, otherwise skip the 1st. Depending on if we have pipes/firecrackers left, we either do the 2nd fight or skip it as well.

In other diff you can definitely skip the 1st fight, its just the NM with fire/acid zombies block the entrance door at tunnels and most times its alarmed as well, so you can easily lose a ton of HP there. Much better to have 1 person go trigger the ogre then run back and hide while the rest deal with ogre from the saferoom or balcony.

For this spawn you can run passed the first encounter and despawn the ogre for the second. In the second encounter after you trigger the ogre spawn you should run all the way back to the door at the end of the first tunnel. If all players are fast enough it'll cause the boss to despawn. This is the easiest approach so far, but its an exploit I expect to get patched.

Just trigger it at the end of the tunnel and then run back to stay in the room. it will reach in but it can’t come in. just stay in there and light it up.
