I'm super happy when nobody picks those two, Lucio is rarely seen on vet+ but holly... If those would atleast play a decent tank build but first you have awful voicelines and second a awful wannabe hybrid player.
In less than a week of play I've heard that obnoxious conversation about shooting fish in a barrel dozens of times, and I don't care about Lucios Saturday morning cartoons. Give me an option to shut up these two cringelords.
I've come to like every other character except Evangelo and Holly...and I think I figured out why: their dialogue is too long.
I think my favorite way to explain this is to compare their friendly fire apology lines to that of the rest of the cast. Consider the following:
Holly: "Oh, sorry! I have to watch where I point this thing!"
...Not only is this line a little on the stupid side, given that, of course, you should be 'watching where you point that thing', but it's also too long. A simple apology would suffice; she gets the point across briefly in the apology, and that alone suffices. Were this a single line that came from a list of other lines that would be fine...but multiple of her Friend Fire Apology lines are too long.
Factor in some of her longer idle banter lines, her bash attack/melee lines, and some of the repeatable travel banter lines and you start to see how long many of her lines drag on past the point of comfort.
Evangelo has a lot of similar lines, that often feel like they can be split into two different lines. Both of these characters feel like there was a strong attempt to give them a big personality...but I feel like they went the 'big words' route.

None of this is to say the other characters don't have lines that are long; even my favorite characters have some long lines (Hoffman's conspiracies in particular). But these are typically not in the more commonly re-playable roster (Idle banter, bash/melee, or Friendly Fire Call outs/Apologies/Remarks) and more towards ambient storytelling. Now, those are also played a little more than they should be (and aren't really map/region exclusive, which can be odd.) but they are played at key moments and not triggered by common actions.

This is the most frustrating aspect for me. I've really taken a shine to the melee build, which locks me into playing either Holly or Lucio exclusively. So I'm forced into this position of being forced to play the most unlikable and irritating characters in the game, if I want to enjoy the game on a mechanical level. They're trying so hard to be liked, and it's just awful.
Killing Floor gives you an option to disable non-essential character banter. This is what B4B dearly needs.
