*EDIT. YOU ONLY NEED TO READ THIS PART REALLY*
*There has been some confusion on what I was trying to get across, and I will take full blame for that. Totally my bad. What I was trying to do was empathize and state that the main issue for all the anger happening with B4B fans is the lack of communication from the Devs. They did finally post on other social media besides their discord, but it was multiple hours after the issue started. There are other issues with the game that haven't been acknowledged at all and this just added on top of that for some. I didn't want to be someone that just went and yelled at the upset players posting on discussions. I wanted to gather the reasons for their anger and then post it here for an honest understanding. Sorry for the confusion it caused for some*

*Also I have learned a valuable life lesson. People love to shoot the messenger*

OP \/

Everyone trying to play right now on Steam are getting sign in errors, while players on other platforms are playing online perfectly fine. This could've been a steam issue, but as of now it is not. Steam posted 4 hours ago that servers would go down in 2 hours for 10-15 minutes. That means the Steam maintenance was 2 hours ago.

As of now steam is working properly, and all titles (mine at least) are working perfectly fine with online except this one. This issue hasn't just started either! There are lines of posts on every thread out there of people having these issues since the early access launch. Tonight it's just finally happening to everyone on the Steam platform.

You can still argue that this is all Steam's fault, but whether or not, the true issue comes down to TurtleRock. No matter who's started the issue, it falls to them to inform their community. But they haven't made a post today to inform fans of anything, and for that matter they haven't even made posts for the people that have been having this issue for days. The only thing I or anyone I know have seen them post is an update on mutation spawn rates and difficulty issues. Nothing at all though about people not even being able to play. That is the only issue or piece of information that has been addressed since launch. And all the sources you see people placing in other discussions to defend the devs, is just a link to the Steam post I mention earlier. (The one about their maintenance being 2 hours ago)

I like TurtleRock and I like B4B. I'm not going to insult the game itself, or threaten refunds (which is always a bluff anyways). But the lack of communication from them personally, on the state of their game which has been out almost 2 weeks (if you got early access) is extremely unprofessional. Especially since there have been multiple issues just beyond that one mutation problem. Also, they ask us to pre-order the Annual Pass, but they give no info on the content, Just "expansion 1, 2, & 3" with nothing further! Most devs usually give an actual roadmap with at least the first expansions name and release window (Spring 2022 or something like that) They also haven't even taken the time to update their own website! They had a list of the mutations with "?" covering up the ones not released in trailers, but the game is out and they still haven't "revealed" them yet...Just go to the Back 4 Blood website, click on "Game Info" and scroll down to the Ridden. That's smaller issue, but it still shows their lack of attention or care.

As of now, TurtleRock is showing us that they don't care to acknowledge issues, inform consumers, and they have a general lack of "major" transparency with their fans. I don't say any of this out of hate or disrespect. And no, I have no knowledge of game development, but I have been a gamer long enough to recognize devs we trust and devs we don't. And right now the trust is being lost for some others.

Instead of posting on twitter where people who don't follow them on twitter or don't have twitter can't see it, or talking about it on discord where people who don't have discord can't see it, why don't they just post on the actual steam page that they're having difficulties. It's not that hard.

I like how you went from it's not steam's fault, to everything is Turtle rock's fault.

probably came out wrong. I meant the issue of upset fans (even though steam may have caused the server problems) falls to the devs. Not everything that happens will be entirely their fault, but they just need to keep people informed better and quicker

Believe it or not, Twitter and Discord are larger game hubs than Steam forums. We're mostly here to ♥♥♥♥♥ and meme, as thus most people look elsewhere for useful info.

I'm sorry, but I don't play that. I just stated that the games I play are working. I don't have the powers to see every steam users experience.

And yet you posted an angry thread in which you declared clearly it wasn't a steam issue.. when you didn't know?

I'm sorry you misunderstood, or if I mistranslated my thoughts for the upset players. I was just trying to defend people who are actually angry. The issue I was discussing was how the other players anger about the servers comes down to the devs to solve. And I'm sorry text is hard to convey tone. I am not angry, I was just trying to be stern to get the point across. TurtleRock has been slow to update players on the game and fixes.

Yea, or just post everywhere for that matter. Just copy and paste your message on every form of media. The obscurity is why people are getting upset.
bruh B4B is not the only one, is everygame who has Easy anti cheat, because I was going to play Dead By Daylight who has easy anti cheat too and I can't play because is fault of steam and his issues, all of you are just crying because no everyone likes b4b and are crying a lot, please stop getting a stick in yours ass and be patient, steam in this month has taking so much issues

but they havent really they are actively talking on their discord server. Which has frankly taken over as the game voice chat/community for nearly every online game. even offline ones have discord communities.

Please don't post if you don't want to read or take this seriously

you obviously have very little understanding of how these things work. the issue is caused by the steam maintenance. this is NO ONE'S fault, as steam prolly didn't intend to down one of their most popular games and turtle rock couldn't have possibly known this was going to happen before it happened and can't reasonably be blamed for things they aren't in control of.

they HAVE posted about the down, if you'd read or take this seriously you'd know that. but you just wanted to whine. :D
Steam is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crashing as we speak lmao

Tbh I still think steam is doing maintenance I can’t even view my friends on the steam app on my phone for example. So I think valve ain’t done yet
Yeah my Steam is still buggy as atm. Nonetheless, having this one connection issue isn't the end of the world, just be patient y'all.
no mate, steam's auth services are down. if games don't use it, you can play them. If games require it (usually so for online games with profiles and such) - you can't.

This is _still_ a steam issue.
Thanks OP for sharing. Another for block list
