Everything is not inherently being recorded. You guys have to stop saying that. You do not walk around your house, say hello john, and get recorded. That isn't happening. Additionally, even if it were, you shouldn't want that. That's an invasion of your inherent right to privacy.

Government agencies recording people is different than a private business recording, so that isn't a good analogy - but is also not good for you. Saying "it's already like that" is not ideal. We should push back against it. WB has put in their TOS that they are storing this data and not utilizing it uniquely in a moderation tool. There's nothing in their TOS that states that it's only used for moderation. They could listen, parse, and sell this recorded data whenever they want. That's not good.

Cell phones do not inherently record your voice passively. If you make a phone call, thats another story.

This shouldn't be encouraged and it's not okay.

This is not the same what so ever, this is a video game. I am not sure you are aware, but in some instances that have already passed. Drug dealers, money laundering, rascism, slander, racial slurs have already been an issue for online games because it is the safest way to deal buisness, simply because none of it is monitored.

You have to also understand the language that is being used here. They are not recording you for any other purpose but for Moderation, User safety, and to operate and improve teh service. So in the EULA (End User License Agreement) which is available to you at any given time you can see that they disclose all information or data that is collected including but not limited to recording of the games you play, not only is this becoming more and more common but it's actually encouraged as toxic players used to hide behind the fact in-game recordings used to monitor for cheaters did not capture voice or text chats, however now most anti-cheat programs that record games do this, honestly if you have nothing to hide you have no need to worry, and I can almost promise you that this is NOT the only game you own that does this

ok first of all does it really matter if its recorded or not because your not going to be saying anything personal in those voice chats your just going to be talking about the game which you know has no use for anybody and will most likely be deleted a couple days later

and about those saying oh but privacy well yeah its suck but guess what phones track you using the internet tracks you doing anything remotely within civilations tracks you there cameras everywhere i mean jesus its alot more easier just to use the data your already providing by being on the internet than having somebody scavange through thousonds of hours of audio recording to make a personal data profile on you because you can't let a ai do that sure you maby can but its probably going to be inaccurate as hell so not worth a damn you people need to get your priotize straight you want privacy advicate for more internet privacy and less cookies/trackers not some voice clips of you telling your teammate there a zombie behind him which will most likely be deleted a couple days later

But the thing is, restaurants dont do that because it is privacy in the bathroom. Im not sure if you are reading over what im saying and completely ignoreing them or not and just picking and chooseing what you will to further your narrative. But i am not going to parrot what i have said again. Just know that in the past 10 years criminals have used online gaming to push illegal things that with out moderation, would go undetected. I will also remind you that TRS is not big brother. So ill leave it at that.

Cartel uses boats, schools, women, children, airplanes, trains etc to solicit drugs/money. Lets just record everything that happens in every corner of every business/home/public institution while we're at it. Where do you people draw the line?
