[SOLVED] Crashes on Windows 7 - Fatal error: [File:Unknown] [Line: 258]
Beta has been running perfectly on Windows 7, nevertheless now it throws an error during loading:

Fatal error: [File:Unknown] [Line: 872]
Rendering thread exception:
Fatal error: [File:Unknown] [Line: 258]
Direct3DDevice->CreateUnorderedAccessView(Texture->GetResource(),&UAVDesc,(ID3D11UnorderedAccessView**)UnorderedAccessView.GetInitReference()) failed
at D:/jenkins/GobiBuild/Game/Engine/Source/Runtime/Windows/D3D11RHI/Private/D3D11UAV.cpp:104
with error E_INVALIDARG

Tried to install the newest Nvidia graphic drivers
Tried to install old graphic drivers
Tried launch options -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -NOSPLASH -nomansky
Verified files integrity
Performed reboot
Disabled/closed any other applications which could somehow interfere with loading process

Do you have any ideas how to get rid of this issue (of course besides upgrading to Windows 10)?

EDIT:
SOLVED!

So in case of Windows 7 you have to manually disable this option before launching the game.

In the file:
C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Back4Blood\Steam\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini

change:
bCASSharpening=True
to:
bCASSharpening=False

It's 2021. Windows 11 even released. (Not that I recommend getting it)

Maybe it's about time to actually upgrade rather than trying to use round-about ways to get around it.

The game was made to work on Windows 10. The Crossplay/Crossplatform features, were all made to work on Windows 10.

if the issue is Windows 7 you could try running the executable in compatibility mode, I'm not sure how it's works for Win7 but it's worth a try

Well I use this box not just for gaming, but also for work. Some drivers for my external devices using COM and USB1 connection are only supported on Windows 7 as the developer has discontinued upgrades years ago.

I am planning to buy new box when RTX 4000 series will be released just to avoid current speculative bubble prize. Nevertheless for this particular moment I have Windows 7 and I would like to get rid of this issue without upgrade hoping that if Beta could run (and many other games which theoretically needs DX12 support) then this should run too.

Anyone else is having this issue too on Windows 7?

I did it!

Mess up with changing options in:
C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Back4Blood\Steam\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

and of course still with -dx11

I hope it will help Windows 7 users in case similar issue ;-)

USB1 works on Win10, go check Github. for modern gaming Win 10 is needed.

I got this error a lot during beta, but I'm on Windows 10. It almost always triggered between chapter transitions, usually right after the player scores (most damage, head shots, etc) when the next chapter was about to load.

I was able to resolve it by changing all graphics settings to low...it turned out that my 5+ years old laptop just can't handle this game at higher graphical settings. It reduced the crashes from almost every game session to once in a couple hours of play time.

In addition in case you are wondering which settings I use, feel free to copy my whole settings file.
Still you can tune it up on your own to adjust to your preferences.
I can confirm it works for me on i7-4770k + GTX 1080 on Windows 7:

I shared your previous solution in another thread and seemed to have resolved the fatal error crash for at least one more person, it sure helps!
