Workers?
I can't see any difference in having 1 or several workers in one place. What are workers actually doing?

But I would say workers ought to be added only when upgrade costs are actually prohibitive (or at the highest building tier for more income, of course).

As far as I understand it, they collect the resources.

Can't see any difference in the amount of resources gained if I have 1 worker or 20 workers though.

From what I have tested Workers increase work speed and yield going to connected buildings...

you wanna have enough workers in one building to keep its connected building at 100%, every time you level a building the amount of workers for your previous buildings wont be ebough to keep it at 100%

Just level up the previous buildings then, no need to add workers.

From my experience, it's best to hold on to workers until the next building can't be bought for a while, and then you dump all workers in the best building(s). It's all about coins and glory gains, so the best ratio depends on building levels. If adding a worker in one building nets you a 1k coin/sec increase vs. 500 in another, you should add the worker to the former, unless the latter will be upgraded to the point where that worker will eventually be worth more in that one. It's just math and planning, really.

Another important point to make is that adding workers to buildings has diminishing returns the more you add. If the best gain is obtained adding a worker to a building that already has 20, consider the fact that it'll boost that build's output by only 5%. If you keep that worker to put it in the next building you build, it'll likely net you better results.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
