Fish side quest?

There's this early side quest about stolen fish in Ancora. It says the thief went into the forest, but I cannot find anything in the forest that lets me proceed with this quest. And also when I come back to Ancora, the quest dialogs reset themselves each time, so the innkeeper and the fishing guy all tell me again about how they saw a person go into the forest.
Is this a bug, or did I just overlook something in the forest that lets me proceed with this quest?

If you talk to grady, he should give you the "A Fishy Situation" quest and to get to the next objective, you have to talk to Marie who tells you to go to the forest.

The fish is located in Ornwood - Tranquil Grove and the quest item's location is near a treasure chest and barrels (It's near the bottom left area of the map when you press [M])

Thanks! It seems I have been searching in the wrong place (the deeper part of the forest) this whole time. I finally got it now that I'm near the end of the game. xD
