"Thank you for your interest in KILL la KILL - IF!
There is no embargo for the game, so feel free to start creating content. However, we have two strict guidelines from Arc System Works. Please respect them or they will ban any content they deem unsuitable:
1) No story mode content beyond the first battle of the first chapter. (Up to the end of said battle.)
2) No extreme game balance research contents. (Frame data, hit box, Maximum combo strings/damage combo route, fastest way to unlock trophies and etc.)
If you received a Steam key, the Steam page isn't live yet (we do not control it), and we expect the code to work on launch (July 25th). "
2. It sounds like they gave you the game before they released it
If 2 is the case that is fine, it's reasonable
The moment a game goes live to the public though streaming yourself playing the game is fair use in general given the transformative nature of games
The tweet seems extremely petty to me
wtf, so if someone REALLY likes the game and wants to really dedicate themselves to it, they aren't allowed to share their knowledge? Don't fighting games pretty much rely on the communities? Especially with extremely niche games like this? (arena fighter AND for a rather specific anime)
I received it 10 days ago, but since there was no STEAM store entry, I was unable to download it.
Also, I believe those are guidelines for people playing it on consoles before the game's release.
What they told you makes sense
Edit: Ya 'know because it was technically given to you before release
I assume they didn't understand how Steam handles distribution ...or they did
as for the Twitter post it was made 4 hours ago
which is either after or around when the game was released
The only reasons I'd see for a streaming prohibition would be pre-release gameplay digging and/or a broken game with exploits and a lack of balance. And I'm hoping it's not the latter.
