Clothes are actually an Alien Species that feed on peoples blood. They don't wear clothes because they are fighting the Alien clothes race from turning all humans into host for the clothes to suck their blood.

There is actually a group of human resistence called "The Naked Beach" that fight Alien clothes.

It is actually one of the coolest animes I have seen even with stupid plot. The fights were cool and the goku suits and different powers were interesting.

Life Fibers are alien parasites that feed on bio-energy. Senketsu absorbs Ryuuko's blood, but a later explanation said that life fibers feed off of the energy produced by the nervous system. Life fibers take the form of clothing because they can feed through skin contact without killing their host; internal contact is too quickly fatal.

The master plan isn't about feeding either, but rather reproduction. The final stage of the plan involves entirely cocooning the planet in life fiber, which requires a large number of hosts. It then starts producing seeds, and destroys the planet in order to launch the seeds into space to eventually infest new planets.

Nudist Beach forgoes clothes both as a statement and as a safety factor. Life fibers can take control of their host, and REVOCS has spread clothing containing life fibers worldwide.
