What is the purpose of this software? (please explain)

Can anyone explain to me the purpose of this software? Everything that this software does I do regularly. I didn't know that there is a need for a separate 3rd party software to do simple tasks like this on a computer. I don't get it. It looks even more useless than a 3rd party antivirus.
Please explain it to me. I'm confused.

Well, I've always been skeptical about such software because it tends to cause problems instead of benefits. But I had problems with freezes on an Asus notebook. I suspected driver conflicts, so I did some research and found this software as a recommendation. I gave it a try and have to say that it not only updates the classic drivers, such as graphics, audio, WLAN and Bluetooth, but also keeps the basic system components up to date, which you would never update in this way. And what can I say, it actually solved my problems. I also gave the scan a chance on other Asus devices and many drivers were brought up to date. I think the software can help if you really have problems with your hardware or driver conflicts.
I can't really say whether it really improves the system performance, as I have never measured or tested this.

One more addition: I decided to use the software in Steam because it can be used on any number of devices in terms of licenses. It simply requires the Steam installation. The classic "pro" version of the software requires one license per device.

driver booster scans your pc for out of date drivers then gives you options for automatically updating.
definitely helps find the odd obscure driver, not really needed for gpu driver updates.
I've not had a problem using the software for years, use it every time i get a black screen, just make sure you read stuff.

If you're lazy and after you formated your pc and don't want to download or search all the drivers, this can hlep very well.
Been using it for like 12 years or so.

it can really help. example if you install pc on another pc example your windows you just donwload a wifi driver or etherent connect it to internett, and update all drivers with this app. then its easier to use windows like touchpad usb so on. and it update all runtimes like vc runtimes needed to launch the games. and can update example physx and install legacy on top of that no need to reinstall physx all the time. and you can backup all the drivers from one system drivers. and you can even extract a backup file of a driver with 7 zip. and manual install it it in devmgmt.msc and install it if you are missing a driver. i did for a phone and did do this. one feature i request is to loacate a backup of a drivers and install them on another pc in driverbooster. this is one things i feel are missing from the app. it are very much needed to manage windows installations. and make it easier to use specially laptops. that does not have built in driver support
