Stay on target buggy Tie-Fighters

I'm replaying the stay on target mission in episode 4, because I heard it's quick way to farm studs. But on consecutive replays, I've noticed that the Tie-Fighters you need to shoot in that level just wiggle around wildly. Sometimes they rapidly bounce up and down and other times they float in space spinning in place. The lead target indicator also goes nuts and basically goes all over the screen due to their wild movements. They also don't seem to take damage while in that state or at least don't register 9/10 hits. I've restarted the game several times, switched framerate and all, but the issue doesn't go away.

Actually, even if they fly perfectly straight, they sometimes just ignore all damage.
