The only 'bug' that makes it hard to play is that one button is used for force-lifting objects, force-throwing objects, and also sheathing/unsheathing lightsabers. It becomes annoying if you want to explicitly force-throw something, since you can't force that option
All other bugs / quirks are in the menus. Some noticeably bad design decisions, but the game is definitely playable.
I was unsure about the new style of gameplay compared to the traditional lego star wars, but I think this new version is much better. There are still 'levels' and 'story mode', where you are locked to certain characters, have to get true-jedi, and minikits, but there's in-between parts where you're kinda free to do what you want in the new areas.
In addition to the worlds being much larger, you also get to experience them outside of the Canonical storylines. In the older games, even free play mode was still the same exact level, just with different characters (and small locked areas that needed free play to get to). In this game, the canonical stories are almost secondary gameplay, and solving all the puzzles and missions is the main part of the game.
Well worth the buy, especially as it's on sale rn
