Help please - Locked character selection

Guys please help, I can no longer switch characters bcs character selection is locked. I have done the story mode and now I'm collecting bricks in free play, Anyone know how to fix that??

You probably joined a story mode level where there is freeplay and you didnt realized, ¿What are the only characters that you can use?

Well, okey but i'm not in story mission and I have no objectives.

Thanks but I'm not in story mode. I know it. The only characters I can use are Han Solo, Chewbacca and Finn with lightsaber. Everything looks like I'm in mission where I have to go to Star Destroyer and save Rey. But I don't have any objectives.

i have same issue i try many thinks to repair it but nothing work also reported it to devs and they are working on it i think we need to wait for update :(

I have the same problem. I travel to Takadoma and then the ship land a old Cutscene startet and now i cant change any character. I dont now what i can do now and the Galaxy map in the Menu to chose the Episode is gone.

you cant do nothing, i have this problem 3 months and still cant change characters just report this glitch to devs and maybe they can see how many players have this glitch and repair it faster. I reported it on they website, via email and on twitter but they dont seem tto care abaout this idk waste of money

This exact thing happened to me back in November and made me drop the game. Decided to check the Steam discussions to see if they fixed it and yeah, that doesn't seem to be the case... :(

Super late response here, but I might have a work around. This glitch happened to me quite recently. Did some digging online and found that you can copy the collectables.blob from your glitched saved slot (with all the progress that you made) and replace it in a new save slot. It worked for me and I'm back to the initial progress that I made but it took a few hours of work because I replayed the story. Here's how to do it.

1. This step is the longest. Start a new game and rush through the story mode (Don't worry about collecting anything, just finish all episodes and missions) Save and exit the game.

2. Go through your files (file explorer on windows for me) Open Users>your name folder>AppData>Roaming>Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment>LEGO Star Wars - The Skywalker Saga>SAVEDGAMES>STEAM>125262209>And the slot file with progress you want to continue. (IMPORTANT - Make a backup of this folder and the folder of the new game slot you made just in case)

3.Copy the file COLLECTABLES.BLOB from original save slot and paste it/replace it in the new save slot where you completed all the episodes and story mode. For example: copy COLLECTABLES.BLOB from SLOT1 and replace it in SLOT2.

4. Boot up the game and load the new save slot where you rushed through the story mode and everything you've unlocked from your old save slot (kyber bricks, characters, quests etc.) should now be in this new slot.

This worked for me and I got all of my characters unlocked again. Granted it takes a few hours but it sure beats starting from scratch. Hope this helps.
