Remote play = online co-op
I've tested the remote play with friends that are thousands of miles away and able to play non online games like the star wars lego Force Awakens and A Way Out through their remote play in offline.
Please note you will need a player to have a remote and depending on the quality of the player's software will be the quality stream player 2 will view. Need to input controls for key board and mouse along with the controller.

no no it does not. online play involves alot more then just 2 people playing together. online play means each player as there own screen without a drop in fps in any form. online play allows both players to play there game solo and help there friend out while getting some form of benefits from it in case of lego games more studs and even in some cases true jedi. remote play is just a poormans excuse to not go out and see your friends in person. should be noted that in 99% of the time remote play is a lagy garbage fest even with fiber internet and living in the same city as your friend. your better off using parsec and even then just invite your friend over or fly over and see them. does every game game need online coop no but honestly its 2022 if you have coop in your game there is no reason to not have online co-op hell delay the game for a month or 2 for the code and to polish the game more. only exception to this is games focused to help married couples even then games that could do that have online

for most games it is in this time. there are a few exceptions but most games that have coop tend to make things harder instead of throwing more at you.
