What movies I have to watch before playing?

Well well well, first timer. If you enjoy sci-fi, I envy your first timer position and would swap with you instantly. Although 9 (or 11) movies is plenty to go through and you might find it overwhelming. I'd push myself through it.

It's not really a question of should you watch the films (I mean duh..), but in what order, that is the real question here. And people's opinions differ in this.

Solo and Rogue One are optional, and if you want to watch all 11 movies, I'd start with those, to set up the background stories.
Then start off with the oldest released movies - episode IV, then episode V which ends on a cliffhanger.
Then let's keep that cliffhanger and go back to the "roots" to explain what led to this - episode I, then II, then III. Then episode VI. And then just suffer through episodes VII, VIII and IX.
So, got it?

( Solo → Rogue One → ) Episode IV: A New Hope → Episode V: Empire Strikes Back → Episode I: Phantom Menace → Episode II: Attack of the Clones → Episode III: Revenge of the Sith → Episode VI: Return of the Jedi → Episode VII: The Force Awakens → Episode VIII: The Last Jedi → Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

I'd recommend just watching 1-9 in release order, so 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9

no 7-9 shouldnt be watched at all they are poorly written abominations that spit in the face of the characters, the legacy, and the fans and should be forgotten

Okay don't care, they will be playable in the game so to get the most out of it, it'd be best to watch them.

Okay don't care, they will be playable in the game so to get the most out of it, it'd be best to watch them.

the remake of the complete saga is the only reason to buy this the sequel trash is just kinda there
