also after the 17gb installation nvidia decided to send me a "nvidia experience update" which told me my amd athlon x2 64 2.8 is slower than a 1.6 phenom 2 or a athlon 2. needless to say i sent their tech support a nasty email, even though it will probably recieved by some moron who thinks my 4gb vid card is also "under pre-reqs" for specific games.
ive played planetside 2 with 0% lag, swtor with 0% lag, DCUO 0% lag, and ive tested it out on about 15 other mmos, and i have never had a fps lag unless it was based on server ping due to overcrowded servers. thanks alot to mega servers. cuz ya know those are so much better than and wayyyy less laggier than a normal server LOLOLOLOL
I had a similar problem with skyrim. I bought the german version, after a playthrough I wanted to play skyrim in english. I switched the language and on the next startup steam downloaded an update of 2gb.
i think part of the 23GB is probably due to the IDTech-5 engine itself maybe
my internet connection sucks ass, but I still managed to successfully download and play it
